Actually, I was thinking our sense of always being able to evolve in someway; can be frighting or a blessing depending on the situation. Being able to use coping skills are the middle ground, huh? ;)

They, er...WE, are also demonstrably short sighted with respect to their, er...OUR future as a species. In fact, very little of their, er...OUR, long term accomplishments and goals were accomplihed without some type of imminent crisis which HAD to be dealt with right then. Also, a great tendency for most of their, er...OUR, human population to think no further than their own noses and to readily be blindly lead around by those in positions of power instead of researching the truth. Like: 1. War in general 2. Putting a man on the moon (direct result of a space race sparked by possible military ramifications from an opposing nations actions) 3. Medical and science advancements (until very recently, historically speaking. Many such advancements in the past were stomped into the ground by those who felt threatened by them, whether for religious, political, or other reasons) 4. Just about ANY election (Wild and heated accusations fly around from ALL sides, like flies around a pile of sh*t.) I could name more, but you get the picture!
