If dogs are mankinds oldest befst friends, how come we still vivesect them, eat them, torture them, etc...?

Precious few dogs are eaten, tortured, or vivisected here in the United States. What other nations condone is beyond your control and mine. I have always treated my dogs like members of the family, and mourned the losses in much the same manner. I cannot, however, keep others from mistreating their dogs. Can you?

Dogs have been called good friends because they served mankind so well, be it as companion as so many are now, or more commonly as a guard, a flock gatherer, hunter, and occasional meal. Mankind was very practical through the ages and animals were to be used for the benefits they could give, not just placed on a pedestal to be revered.

They are not all of mankind's friends. To the Muslim world they are vermin.For many of the poor, there is no alternative but to eat them in order to survive.
