No, they listen to repetitive music and take awfully artificial drugs. You should instead start listening to reggae music and dub. Start with some of Bob Marley & the Wailers's earlier albums, before they sold out and produced pop songs that make hipsters feel good, then move on to Augustus Pablo, then when you're bored of him get into Lee Perry:

Do you think it\'s ok to cheat a large corporation? (ex: shoplifting, not giving back the wrong change)
Yes, but not in the senses you described. Just like choosing not a by a product for yourself won't have the least effect on the company which produces it, stealing something from the store will only affect the employees of the store (and the manager if it's a franchise like IGA - which isn't as bad as larger corporations like Coles or Woolworths). Why do I find most British humor to be far funnier than American humor? I've never even been to Europe.
Because American networks have a nasty habit of treating their audiences like idiots, and by doing that Americans are forced to accept their roles as idiots in order to find entertainment in television, which makes them good fodder for advertisers.
In Britain, the BBC is the main network and, for all its faults, by not having any advertisers to cater for, it treats its viewers as human beings...

It's more the shitty structure of the military itself that is to blame, as well as the poverty that a lot of American students in tertiary education experience and the acts of aggression of overseas. I think 'political correctness' is one of the least notable concerns in this case.

Because he's looking for attention. Also, it's important to remember that this guy was intelligent, he'd written very balanced papers on this sort of thing himself. He just didn't want to fight his own people. It wasn't the most commendable way to get out of it, but his motivation was a little more noble than most killers.

I think posting this question in the terrorism category is a real dickish move. If protesting against what the US military is doing in the middle-east is 'radical', then perhaps you should start a neo-fascist political party because it sounds like an awfully totalitarian view to hold.

Why does the United States continuously handicap itself by placing restrictions on it's military when it's in an armed conflict. I thought the whole idea was to defend our way of life and to make sure the enemy never tried to cause us harm again.
Although the US breaks international law all the time, it has to obey some laws, otherwise it will lose all of its political support. I doubt it's altruistic, although the Geneva Conventions and the rest certainly - not that the US follows them a great deal.

They're alright, a bit of a bore at parties though. They're a deep water fish, and generally only look that way out of water due to the lack of compression - they look completely different in their natural habitat.

What should President Obama envision as the new regulatory system for banks after the Republican years of legalizing theft?
Ideally, he should just nationalise the ones that have caused the most trouble. But of course I sincerely doubt he would do that. Probably because of the people who are in his 'team', and who have had experience working high up in those banks.
Answer to:
Why is Republican culture so confused about what racism is?
I don't know. In the historical record, more of them voted for the Civil Rights act than the Democrats:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964#Vote_totals
Stuff just got messed up in the eighties and nineties, when morality became politicised, which brought out all the extra-racist Republicans to the forefront of the party.

Ricky Gervais vs Steve Corell
Gervais played a great David Brent, but that was partly because the role was tailor-written for him by Stephen Merchant. If you read some interviews with Gervais, you'll see he just doesn't have the intelligence to realise a character like David Brent on his own - he worships Seinfeld and American comedy, whereas the Office (the English version) was leagues above almost anything...

Why do poverty and corruption so rampant in the third world countries?
Because of the 'first world' governments, mostly (keeping in mind these are Cold War terms). The less corrupt a country is, the harder it is to manipulate by a larger power outside (just take a look at what's happening in Bolivia), and poverty means class division, which means in turn a wealthy elite to keep things under control and under your thumb. Larger economic powers only...

Noam Chomsky developed a theory which basically explains that the media is subservient to power. The US really doesn't like Ahmadinejad - less than the Ayatollah. And, judging by the storm public relations groups have kicked up about him winning, chances are the main opposition leader was going to be a puppet of US policy, or something similar.

The first Bush distinguished himself mainly by what he didn’t do. How about Bush the second?
By invading two sovereign nations over false pretexts and killing lots of innocent people? Mind you, a good number of American presidents have already done that - more than half. Bush I himself invaded Panama, I believe.

Answer to:
GEORGE W. Bush ignored the constitution, destroyed the Bill of Rights, doubled the national debt, lied about 9/11 and weapons of mass destruction. Think, there is anything funny about Bush?
He's only a little bit worse than your average American president. You have to remember that Obama doesn't exactly have much concern for human life either - not once has he criticised the Iraq War on the grounds of it killing heaps of innocent people, or causing irreconcilable damage to a nation. No, it's all pragmatic and monetary to him.

Answer to:
What has Obama done wrong so far?
He's advocating a fully-fledged invasion of Pakistan, and doesn't seem to care about innocent people being killed by aerial drones, or in US Air Force bombings in Afghanistan (both Hamid Karzai and the head of the Pakistani military have appealed to him on these points). I guess he still has a lot to do to beat Bush's record, but he's off to a promising start.

Answer to:
Why was Bill Clinton, who was never as unpopular as George W. Bush, impeached for lying about sex, while Bush faces no sanction for the far more serious offense of lying about war?
Because politics has become a game of personalities, thanks to incessant public relations campaigns dating back to the twenties. Bill Clinton organised the almost genocidal NATO bombing of Serbia and destroyed the only pharmaceuticals factory in Sudan (meaning thousands of people have died from easily preventable diseases), but the moralism that took over the Republican Party in the eighties...

I'm not particularly against the idea of parents taking their kids to demonstrations and the like - it encourages political awareness amongst the younger generation, which is desperately needed.

It's hard to say. George Lucas made the recent three suck because he's too full of himself to write a good story and let other people direct for him. Because it makes their foreign policy easier. American foreign policy literally operates on the principle that they own the world. Technology and business - it's cheaper for people to get take-away now than fresh fruits and vegetables (in certain parts of the world). Progress of women is not a myth. Why?
In the seventies, in most Western countries, a man could not rape his wife. A marriage was a contractual document that allowed husbands to have sex with their wives whenever they wanted, no matter how unwilling she might be. Women managed to band together to change that. That is my definition of progress.

Democracy is a pretty broad concept. Social democracy is an advancement, and countries like Bolivia are taking it further in the modern era.

Can we really blame the Republicans for this finanial SNAFU or is it a case of everyone is to blame because of collective greed and excess?
The Democrats under Clinton removed a lot of financial regulation measures, which effectively led to the current crisis (although I'm sure the Bushes and Reagan had a hand in it too). The bad news is that the same idiots who deregulated the American economy are now working for Barack Obama.

Catholic and Muslim officials have proposed rewriting of school books to eliminae offensive language about each other's religions. Does this mean that they admit that religions have been attacking each other? What's your views?
'Catholic and Muslim officials' are very vague terms and, especially in the case of Islam, the people you are referring to are mostly just isolated, overly-opinionated, unreflective individuals with no great connection with the broader religion.

Does Al Qaeda exist? BBC's documentary "The Power of Nightmares" makes the case that Al Qaeda was a bogeyman created by the CIA to further the causes of the neocons. OBL's group only decided to adopt that name later, when everyone became afraid of it.
Adam Curtis makes a very convincing case. What it comes down to is the CIA (or the FBI, I'm not sure) waterboarding a guy named Jamal al-Fadl until he gave them the story they wanted - that there is a criminal organisation named Al Qaeda. That way, they could try the guy at the top without actually linking him to any crimes, like they do with the mafia. The thing is, even if this...

Since the GOP doesn't believe in taxing, let's abolish all taxes. They would have to work for free of course, since there would be no money for such liberal things as wages. No health insurance either. What do you think?
That's just public relations rhetoric, the GOP's general view for the last twenty to thirty years has been that taxes are very good, but only when they come from poorer individuals, or individuals who don't organise. They say all this nonsense about small government being good government, but the American economy has relied on the state for massive amounts of funding since Reagan.

I feel sorry for Obama, because the way people are thinking of him, if he doesn't pretty much walk on water and produce loaves and fishes during his presidency, he'll get absolutely hammered. Do you feel the same way, or otherwise?
No - he certainly didn't show any concern when US forces bombed a school in Pakistan, leading the US to be condemned widely by Pakistan, Syria and Jordan. His silence alludes to him thinking such actions are justified.

Why did Sarah Palin name her daughter Bristol?
Maybe in an attempt to further her limited geographic knowledge, she picked a random name on a world globe.
Or maybe there's a Bristol in the US. It wouldn't surprise me - we're talking about the people who decided it would be okay to name a small (albeit nice and arty) town in a crappy state 'Athens'.

What was your favorite television show of all time?
That's a hard thing to decide on. I mean, Carnivale's excellent, but some programs are so inherently awesome, not just for their time, but because they make every other show in their genre look completely feeble by comparison. The Young Ones is one of those shows. Honestly, in terms of sitcoms, absolutely nothing else compares. It is the most anarchic, influential,...

My husband is thinking of having a vasectomy. Would you recommend it, and have you had one?
Definitely the preferable option for long-term contraception. I haven't had one myself (I'm only 19), but I have family members who have. You avoid all of the numerable medical complications inherent in things like hysterectomies (and even the Pill) because the male genitalia is, to a degree, much simpler than the female genitalia.

Without trying to sound offensive... What do Americans of Middle Eastern decent select on the "Race" question on polls/census?
That's a good question. According to the antiquated 'racial' sciences, most Arabs and Persians (and Afghans and Indians too, I think) were Caucasian as well. But, seeing as the whole field of science was ultimately a socially-constructed farce, there's no real right or wrong answer. If we had a question like that in our census, I'd answer with "nigga please"...

In reality, women in early Islamic society had much more in the way of rights than in the West. In fact, one of the things early Islamic law stressed was equal inheritence rights between men and women. It went downhill as the Ottoman Empire shrunk and the balance of wealth shifted, making lots of societies insanely conservative with Islamist political movements (often funded by Western...

Big breasts are the only adult thing the stereotypical guy likes about women. Clinton and his advisors (who are now Obama's advisors). He pushed through heaps of deregulation measures, which caused a lot of harm because the economy is a complete bastard when left to its own devices. I'm not leaving the Republicans out of this either - Reagan did a bit of deregulation in his own right, when he wasn't starting terrorist wars in Latin America, and Bush II...

Do you get other type of terrorist besides an Islamic Fundamentalist terrorist?
Yes, there are Christian fundamentalist terrorists, although not as many as the balance of wealth is located more in Christian nations than Islamic nations. Also, there is state terror, which involves powerful countries invading other countries and bombing civillian populations (for examples see the United States, Russia, Israel and South Africa).

There is more talk now about nationalizing some of our U.S. banks..they keep bleeding money and apparently can't run their businesses properly. What exactly does that mean? What happens when you "nationalize" a bank?
The government buys shares in it and takes over the operations. Not a bad idea, especially if they strip the salaries of the executives. The current financial crisis was caused by a lack of regulation, you know.

Not really, although a lot of people have personal experiences which bias them against minority groups - even ones they're part of. My mum and dad both seem to despise Arabs and Indian men.

The 'atheist society' have paid to advertised on the side of London buses “There is no God, so enjoy life” is this to be interpreted as, break all the commandments & enjoy life?
I think they meant it to be interpreted as "don't worry about not being allowed to have fun", but it comes across more as a pro-consumption argument that furthers the agenda of every public relations firm and advertising agency to turn everyone into mindless consumers.

Christians, do you consider it a good or a bad thing when bible stories are presented outside the context of the bible, like Noah's Ark as a children's book for example?
I'm not sure. It does get kind of annoying when you hear your younger brothers repeating that Ark nonsense as if it were fact (and they get very self-righteous about it). Perhaps they should make children's books out of stories like how Abraham gave his wife to be raped by an angry mob in exchange for his own personal safety?

A lot of the Middle East states are members of the United Nations, including Iran & Israel: Is it not the job of the UN to regularly correspond & meet with these member countries to discuss mutual objectives & goals?
The UN is more like a big room where every nation goes to discuss things with every other nation, it doesn't have any responsibilities in its own right - that's up to the nations in it. And yes, Iran cooperates with the UN with regards to its nuclear program (although not with regards to human rights programs), while Israel has been at odds with the UN for most of its existence.

Disease was knowingly used as a weapon against the Native Americans (starting plagues on purpose). This is the first time I have heard of disease being used this way. Were there any recorded times previous to this that disease was used as a weapon?
Biological warfare has been used by the US military since the Korean War, although it's kept under wraps somewhat. Usually it's more indirect than droppping a cloud of smallpox over a major city, though - like bombing that pharmaceuticals factory in Sudan, or denying Iraqis access to water purification facilities.
