Each Linux FS is different because of what is was made for. XFS was designed for speed with large files. Reiserfs was designed for speed with small files. In Linux you can choose which File system you want and it won't really care, but in Windows nowadays you pretty much have to use NTFS.

Yes you can, on some models - like mine - you can turn the CD-ROM drive so that its still flat relative to the table. It's hard to describe but in the ROM drive the motor head comes through the hole in the CD and latches on, kinda like a clamp.

My windows folder is just over 5 GB! Why? and what can I get rid of? I need space! In the Windows folder are the uninstallers for all the installed updates. They're hidden but by going into Folder Options you can have them shown. You can safely delete all the ones starting with $KB. Doing that could free about several hundred megs.
