Most likely it was rated for a incandescant bulb for the maxium wattage drawn but also for the heat given. Such bulbs actually give off over 90% of wattage drawn as heat. You will be safe using a florescent that draws 60 watts but I doubt you will be able to get it into the fixture if it draws that much. +5

I would suggest that first you need to decide how serious you are about needing and gettting help. There are other help lines, services through churches, social services and hospitals.
