Answer to:
Do you think there will ever be an atheist televangelist?
Would you send money to 'support the cause'?
Current atheist organizations follow the route of organizations like the Sierra Club or ACLU. They have a membership base that promotes their cause and provides donations. In the case of atheist organizations the cause is the promotion of secular thinking in government and other public forums. I don't think they would ever go the "televangelist" route, but I could see a television news show...

why do you think they are not allowing pot here in the u.s.?
Cultural norms developed due to poor understanding of the effects of pot in the "Reefer Fever" era, and then again in the B. Bush "Just say no" era. These norms are still present, and will be carried by momentum for a while longer, I suspect. However, culture always changes. Studies have concluded that pot is no more a "gateway" drug than alcohol, and it could be considered less destructive...

Antibiotics are the only way to kill it. Otherwise, it could spread into you kidneys when you are lying down and be even more painful, expensive, and difficult to cure. If you are prone to UTI's take the cranberry pills, and be sure to pee immediately after sex, every time you have sex!

Have your or your government's abortion views been manipulated by the Catholic church?
Well yeah. I think that the Catholic Church's role in removing abortion from the Health-care Reform Bill has been pretty well publicized. The Church, while a proponent of health care reform, would not support the current iterations without the removal of abortion coverage.
At least they have involved enough with the times to let birth control slide though.

I would like to jump on the "citation please" bandwagon. However, if the statistic is accurate, I hypothesize that non-Christians may be more likely the avoid marriage altogether, thus have no chance of getting divorced, while Christians are more likely to get married (due to the whole no sex before marriage and their belief in the sacredness of marriage business). Please help! my feet stink! I am only 14, and this has NEVER happened before. All of a sudden since maybe 2 days ago, (september 22, 2009) after school i noticed it. I just finished taking a shower and washing my feet, but the stink is coming again! hlp
Don't wear the same pair of shoes everyday. Give them time to dry out in between use. Wash your tennies in super hot water to kill the bacteria. Always wear clean socks. Use a powder, like gold bond medicated powder in your socks and shoes to keep the stink under control. Don't wear shoes and socks around the house. Go bare foot whenever it is appropriate to do so.

In this case I think sociopaths are very similar to pedophiles. Social/cultural control can be very powerful. Of course, this is only anecdotal evidence of course, so keep that in mind.

Religion is a way for people to make sense of an unknown world and deal with their fear of death. As the world because more completely known there is no need to fall back on religion. Of course, fear of death will always be a problem.
If religion makes people happy then that is great for them. Freedom of religion is very important. But freedom from religion is equally important. Keep...

All joking aside, it is not safe to loose that much weight in one week. You would need at least 12 weeks to loose 15lbs. The only way to do that is to burn more calories than you eat, which means diet and exercise. There are no weight-loss miracles out there.

Sure, the conversion types may be trying to do just that, but that seems like a waste of time on AB. And the science-leaning types may be trying to prove the religious types that they are irrational. But since religions, or at least out modern day ones, are based on faith, which can be proven or disproved, there is no reason to argue the point. The whole thing just seems like a waste of time.

I am writing a ethnography for my anthropolgy course and the instructor said I could use internet sources, as long as I use them critically, what is meant by this, I don't want to ask the proffesor for fear of him thinking Im not up to the task, help needed
In general you want to avoid using Internet sources because the Internet is not peer-reviewed; the information you find may not be correct, plagiarized, etc. I only use a web page if I can't find the information in a book, or journal, and it is critical to my paper.
I think you should ask your professor what he/she meant, but I suspect he/she meant to use only Internet sources that...

Do you believe everything "science" tells you to believe or has it become a manipulative institution that has most people, that dont know any better, running along side the ice cream truck of their every statement, like overly excited children?
The default position in science is skepticism. So no, I don't believe every single published article in a peer reviewed scientific journal. It is more a matter of continued experimentations leading to similar results over time, in which case I am more likely to consider it fact (at least until it is indicated otherwise).
But even after saying all that a scientific statement will always...

Do you think it is better to have one great love of your life or many lovers and experiences?
I think polyamory is the best choice for me, which would entail many lovers and experiences, but I think it is different for different people.

It is extreemly unlikely that you could get pregnant.
First, when you have your period you are shedding the uterine lining, the gooey stuff the fertilized would implant itself in if you had been ovulating. So, even if you weren't on the pill it would be unlikely that you would get pregnant during this time (though NOT impossible; you should still use a method of birth control during...

Did you see the picture of the pregnant ....man?
I find the fluidity of gender and sex in this situation very interesting. His sex is female but his gender is male, and he is still interested in keeping his original female sex organs to reproduce. Some cultures may consider that combination a whole new gender all together, such as the Two-Spirit in the Lakota culture. It is an exciting world these days!

What is a 12th {PCM}?
These days most archaeologists are employed by cultural resource management companies (contact archaeology) and not NOT by universities. CRM is not glamorous and nothing like Indian Jones. CRM archaeologists do surveys prior to construction in order to comply with federal and state legislation protecting cultural heritage. Usually you need a MA degree to gain some...

I am 26 years old I would like a tubal ligation. However, doctors refuse to do it because of my age. Does anyone know of a doctor that will do the procedure on someone who is young, does not have children, and is certain she will never want children?
I just don't understand why I can't sign a release form saying that I do not hold anyone responsible but myself for my infertility. Specifically, I can't sue the doctor.
