Been there, but didn't do that and glad I didn't. It would be a horrible thing to have to regret later, as she did when she finally had one herself, at which time, things changed dramatically for the better, for me at least.

Heaven is the continuation of living life in fellowship with God and everyone who worships him, but in a much more joyous sense then is available here.
Hell is the continuation of life without...
Obviously this is in my humble opinion -- I am certain there are much better definitions out there, none of which can be validated. But it makes life interesting to imagine what it will be like.

Infatuation is fun but I hope I never feel that enmeshed. I had a VERY bad experience with a woman who felt that way about me until she realized I was not her saviour, which did not take long. IMHO a partnership has to be two independent people coming together to be interdependent, not dependent or enmeshed. If it is you experiencing it I hope you enjoy it BUT also give it time!

Change is wonderful but it comes at a cost that most people are unwilling to pay. It is much more "comfortable" even in a bad relationship, to stay put. Parents/ upbringing/ spiritual journey/relationship with God all influence our own independent decisions. How is that for a lawyer type answer? Seriously though -- no matter the influence it is always our decision and we have to take responsibility for how we react to our influences.

I think we need to be very careful with labels. All of Christianity was considered a cult historically, until Emperor Constantine in about 400AD if memory serves.
It is all driven by One leader! In catholicism the pope is venerated only in as much as he is considered to be Christ's representative on earth and that is strictly based on position rather than the fallible person himself.

Although no longer Catholic per se, I agree with ImCatholic2's answer but am at a loss for a "prooftext" at the moment... but conceptually since Jesus died even for our future sins that he knows we will commit, then surely his death was also intended to reach backward for our ancesters who proceeded him. Do you think it's okay for a husband to have an EMOTIONAL MISTRESS? Do you think it's okay for a wife to have an EMOTIONAL Affair? Would there be any difference because of gender? Why? (An emotional affair = non-sexual).
The mind and soul and spirit are the first lines of defense of the temptation to have a physical affair, and offer much less of a social consequence. So the temptation towards a strictly emotional one is enormous if a spouse is or seems inattentive or abusive. I think it is crucial not succumb to either one. Have you ever witnessed a parent abusing their child in public? What did you do?
Do you consider it abusive to bring a child to a violent movie? I saw a movie a long time ago called "Ransom" and it involved a LOT of violence and a little guy kidnapped and treated badly. Definitely R rated stuff and this guy has all his kids with him at a 10PM showing -- I could not enjoy the movie thinking about what those kids experienced but allowed myself to be talked out of...

Has spanking your kids become a thing of the past due to the fact of dcf and child abuse getting out of control. what are other effective meatheds to disapline your children?
Follow the three R's -- discipline must be respectful, related to their actions, reasonable - can they or any reasonable person make sense of it?
Natural consequences work best. But getting hit by a car is not an acceptable consequence... so you have to resort to logical consequences when natural ones are unacceptable.

When I was growing up I had a friend that sked that same question -- The only problem was he tried it out verbally and gave an example of the top of his head - the word "hit" he kept saying "hit hit hit hit -- what does it even mean?" At which point someone smacked him -- not hard -- just a reminder of what the word meant! It was hilarious at the time...

Both and neither. Based on cursory research, I would use Latin American or Mexican American, etc., assuming the person in question is living in the US. What do you feel about the idea the the Gods of many other religions have the same back story as
Jesus( virgin birth, resurrected after 3 days, etc) there are over 100 and most of them are pre-Christ.
I am secure in my faith but I must admit it certainly appears to be more than a coincidence. Could they be foreshadows of that which was to come in earnest? I know that may sounds like a stretch, but what of the 1000's of prophesies fulfilled from the Old Testament, in which no one had an idea of the meaning of their own prophesies in many cases.

Relationships are built on trust. Your forgiveness is exemplary, yet in my experience leopards rarely change their spots and it is awfully early for him to be LOOKING at others let alone sleep with them (it is ALWAYS too early for that.) SO... living together enables you to know someone before you get hitched. How much more do you need to know??

Only with other guys -- how rude and disrespectful to do so in front of you!! On the otherhand, with due respect to the comment you received, how naive to think a man is not attracted to another woman's looks -and it does NOT mean they are going to be unfaithful, but the temptation is stronger if our natural reflex is stifled.

My friend and I "argued" last night over whether the Police's lyrics were meant to be a twisted kind of funny (Songs like "I Can't Stand Losing" and "Don't Stand So Close to Me.") Also, do some people think that "Every Breath You Take" is a love song?
As for your last question, given the stark contrast of his solo tune "If you love someone, set them free...", I would say it is more about posession and jealousy rather than love.
But I agree that most of their songs are meant to be fun/witty and are cleverly written in my opinion.
