How difficult will it be to undo this mess after the Democrats are voted out?
I would say that the political views of both parties are equally to blame.
It would appear that you are of the opinion that the democrats are the source of the troubles that the US finds itself in currently.
Even though there was a president in office prior to that for 8 years that did very little to try and prevent it. It's unfortunate that the conservatives and liberals aren't...

It was a tragedy when Sting left The Police to start a solo career. Especially when they were at the height of the bands success. I'm not sure what the reasons were, there have been many theories given over the years. It was great that they did reunite awhile back and go on the road again.

Have you ever had a memorable experience finding your way with a GPS? I'd like to buy one for my car but the really highly rated versions are out of my reach...are the cheaper ones a good idea??? Thank you.
The problem with GPS units are the need to do a reality check when using them. They give dependable directions to a point. I use one for work to make deliveries. As roads are frequently rerouted and changed. You might find yourself listening to the unit directing you to make a legal u-turn when possible if you deviate from it's preferred route. Or the screen may indicate your going cross...

My first thought, why would anyone seek the assistance of anyone unlicensed to do anything? I wouldn't let a unlicensed plumber work on my plumbing. Why would I let someone unlicensed in euthanizing animals, have a look at my cat or dog?

If Seinfeld decided to come out with a major motion picture and bring back all his crazy characters.(Elaine, George, Kramer and Neeeeeeewman) Would you still go see it?
I think it would be a great motion picture. Hell they made a movie from "Sex in the City". I think "Seinfeld" would be a far superior project than that. Since the show was discontinued, Thursday night just hasn't been the same. :(

Honest answers please. If you were about to board a flight today and saw a group of Middle-Eastern men boarding the same plane, would you feel a bit uneasy getting on, in light of what happened eight years ago with 9/11?
I guess I might be a bit apprehensive if they didn't get searched with the rest of the passengers by security. I might also be concerned if they were to openly make comments in English regarding death to America, and the Infidels must die. Aside from things of that nature. I'd hope I wouldn't.

Does Scientology shun all medicine? Hubbard was a bit hostile toward the medical profession, but do they allow medical treatment for their health and that of their families?
Seemingly some areas of the medical profession are not embraced by Scientologist. Tom Cruise is an out spoken critic of some types of medical treatment. And recently with the death of Jett Travolta there seems to be some question regarding his medical history and it's treatment. Mr. Hubbard may have started a way of thinking inside the organization that the members still find confusing.

In the big scheme of things it doesn't matter if a celebrity gets pregnant. It's just a way to get them back in the public eye. The majority of the time the announcement that they are pregnant has to be self serving. In my opinion.

Hard to say depending on the person. I don't like venison when it's prepared by ordinary means. Say in a skillet or broiled in the oven. But my uncle makes a excellent venison sausage that is kick a$$. I guess it just takes a preparation that will appeal to her taste buds. Good luck with that.

This is a classic example of the pitfalls of some credit companies. Trying to scare you into accepting the debt and paying it off. A little investigation might be warranted before you freak out and cave.

Do you agree with the reasons the Ford Motor company won't be selling the 65 MPG Fiesta ECOnetic in the USA?
What a load of crap. I happen to drive a Ford-350 E Series Van that just happens to be a diesel for work. The fuel is really expensive. If the consumer wants to spend upwards of $25,000.00 for one, bring the damn thing to the market. Now the only thing I can figure is that 65 mpg on any vehicle may be frowned upon by the oil companies. Diesels were sold by most automakers in the 80's...

I guess it would depend on the amount of time the man sat on his bike and continued to rev the engine. And whether or not it impeded your investigation. If he gave you attitude without any provocation from you or the others. I guess you need to decide if it was the right thing to do or not. Sounds like you might be second guessing the decision.

What is your opinion of rock stars that have great hit songs, then put them on TV commercials, and does doing that tarnish the impression of the song?
I don't think it tarnishes the song at all. The profession of a musician is a business. And as such the music is a product to be marketed whether it's on CD's, radio, MTV, etc. It's just another way to collect some cash for the effort put into the creative process.

I was reprimanded for making a flip comment to a citizen who said there was a shoe in the road, and without missing a beat I said "Well when you find one with a foot still in it call me...." Is it right I got into trouble for that?
WTF? I can't believe a civilian would take exception with that innocent statement. It sounds as though the culprit just needs to be in the position of making a complaint. No matter how lame the complaint was. And your supervisor could have just let it go. This is whats wrong with America.

How come people in underdeveloped, and what we call poorer countries seem to be more content, in less need of a psychiatrist, and have very few suicides compared to the affluent nations?
I would conclude that it has to do with expectations. In the affluent countries it's a social matter of keeping up with the Jones. In poorer countries it's a matter of survival. They tend to be less concerned with the "hype" of life that we are exposed to.

A friend and I both parked in one parking spot with our motorcycles. we both recieved a parking ticket . we were both in the same spot and the meter pays for the spot, not the vehicle. why did we both get tickets?
I would imagine that the meter allows one vehicle or motorcycle to occupy that spot at a time. And since the officer that felt the need to write the ticket couldn't determine which bike paid for the meter time, he issued the ticket. I'd go to court and fight it. He may not show up and it might get tossed.

Did they download completely into your iTunes player on your computer? It's not uncommon for downloads to get interrupted depending on your internet connection. I would check them in iTunes and try and re-synch the iPod again and see if that corrects the problem.

My sisters daughter was killed by a habitual offender who was only 16 years old at the time. I was ambivalent regarding the death penalty before that. I now support the death penalty. Primarily because my sister is being held in a prison that the legal system created for her. Because of the sentence her daughters killer received.

How can we as Americans solve our problems? Shouldn't we work on our own issues first? Congress - stop all funding of anything going on outside the USA. Do individuals get to write checks with no money in the bank? Is it just me? Common sense?
People can write checks without sufficient funds in a checking account. But eventually they are held accountable for it unlike the government. The money that the US operates from is much like a slight of hand game. One has to keep a close eye on which shell the money is placed under. Once the money starts moving around it's often lost or unaccounted for.

I'll have to catch the replay this evening at 8 pm. It's not being broadcast here currently. With the exception of Headline News showing an exterior shot of the stadium as the ceremonies get underway. Don't really see the point of that.

On the Mike and Juliet Show, they had a section where the discussed if sperm donors should pay child support. What is your take? I think, No. Some guy was ordered to pay child support. What are your thoughts?
The key word in this question is donor. It's not as though the final outcome of making a withdraw from a sperm bank was unforeseen. It's like paying a fee to access your money through a ATM form another bank. Whoever decided the donor should pay support needs some help identifying responsibility.

Do you find it hard to form a question that hasnt already been asked here?
It's not the forming thats the problem. It's the uncertainty that it hasn't been asked before. It's pretty frustrating when you get a question, get decent responses. To later only find the question reassigned to an earlier version or similar question.

Who's running answerbag? I'd just like to say you're not doing a very good job. The hypocritical nature of the way this site is run, is just ridiculous. Certain "groups" of people get away with murder, while others never do. Get a grip on your site!
Sometimes it might seem to be on auto pilot. But it's a question and answer website. With specific guidelines that need to be kept in mind by all participants. It's not always clear on who has the leverage to do what here. But getting caught up in the a clique based view of the site might be causing you a little paranoia. For the record I enjoy a little sarcasm and opinion based...

How do you deal with a freeloader friend that does not contribute to anything (in a financial sense) and constantly expects everyone else to pay their way when going out anywhere ,or at parties?
If a friend is having a temporary bit of trouble. I tend to look the other way and let it slide. But if this is a ongoing issue. In the natural environment this is an example of a sponge and not that of a friend. This person needs to be cut out of circumstances where they are allowed to get away with not contributing.

Answer to:
Why is that advice falls on deaf ears, even when we ask for it?
It seems as though people have an idea of what they intend on doing for the most part. But there are those rare cases when they may have a certain amount of apprehension regarding their own instincts. This is the point that advice from others is usually cultivated. As well intended as another's advice is. It will never be given more weight than what the asker is intent on doing already.

Why do category experts exist? Do they serve a particular purpose?
It's a way of tracking feedback to questions in a particular category. I'm not sure what purpose they serve. Someone could give amusing responses to political questions. That a lot of people laugh at and are awarded points for. But that wouldn't necessarily make them ready to run for office.

Have you heard or know of someone who has lived in a haunted APARTMENT?
Years ago I had a neighbor in Texas that claimed her apartment was haunted. In her bedroom she showed me a marking on the wall that looked like a pentagram. I found out later that she and her boyfriend had dabbled in witchcraft and drew it on the wall themselves. After she moved out the maintenance man slapped a little Kilz over it, and some paint. It just disappeared. LOL

What are your feelings on Scientology?
It's one of the more elitist so-called religions. I have to wonder if the Scientology center in LA has a outreach program or a soup kitchen to help the under privileged? From the information that is carefully controlled by it's members (except the rantings of Tom Cruise) it does seem to be the way to go. As far as attaining wealth is concerned.
