We made a separation in church and state for good reasons, Must we do it also for business and state?
There does need to be more of a separation of the amount of influence that corporations and business has on government in the US. But, unfortunately that probably will not be happening any time soon as in order to get into any significant political office one must essentially make a Faustian bargain with corporations and accept their money. Some places to start would be severely limiting the...

First you should think about what schools you are interested in. Then you need to fill out a FAFSA (do it online @ http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) and have it sent to each of those schools. The FAFSA is basically how the schools see how much financial aid you are eligible for. Then, contact the financial aid department of the schools you are interested in. Why Men are viewed as success objects and women as sex objects?
This is something that takes a few courses in sociology, anthropology, and women's studies to get a grasp on as it's deep-rooted in our culture. Generally speaking though, because that's what society tells us. It's not rooted in nature or biology as there are other cultures where these sorts of views of men and women do not exist.

Why do athesists have such a strong desire to convert others?
How does one "convert" someone to the non-belief in the supernatural? Most people become atheists because they learn how to think logically and utilize reason, then apply it to themselves and their own beliefs. If they follow that line of logical thinking long enough, they usually end up an atheist or agnostic.

The best teachers I've had throughout my life are the ones that encourage me to learn on my own. Once you realize that you know nothing, it drives you to seek the truth. The search itself needs to be reward enough as you will never reach a full understanding of anything, just a more complete one. Stay away from those who profess to have all the answers as they have none.

How do scientists estimate the age of the earth?
Please write it on your own words not copy paste...
They find rocks with crystals that contain radioactive isotopes. They then measure the ratio of that isotope to it's daughter in the crystal(s). They compare the average ratio of parent-daughter against the isotope's half-life. From that, they can deduce the age of that rock.
We have found zircon in rocks that dates to 4.33 billion years. So, the Earth has to be at least that old to have...
Answer to:
Why scientist talk about how old the earth is as is it were fact. why can't they just state something like I believe the earth is 4 billion years old.
Because we have found Zircon that has been radiometricly dated to 4.33 billion years.
Answer to:
When will the Earth's core cool down?
When the radioactive isotopes that heat it fully decay into non-radioactive daughters. This will take many billions of years. The sun will swell into a red giant and envelope the Earth before this.

Although it is demographically, is the United States a Christian nation? Should it be?
No. The US was founded upon the basis that the government should remain secular and separate from any church or religious belief. The founding fathers themselves were mostly atheists or deists. Thailand's coast disappears as sea level rises. How did the conspirators behind the Global Warming 'hoax' trick the ocean into doing this?
Sea level rises are not uniform globally. Some places show a decline and others an increase, and it varies from year to year. There are also many factors involved with sea level rise, such as uplift/sinking, erosion, gravitational attraction, etc.
Sea level on average has been rising, but only slightly, and it's not linked to what AGWers claim it is.

It's too hot and there is far too much pressure. In addition, once you got to a certain depth there would be a barrage of ionized radiation. I was thinking the other day though.
If there was a way to prove religion didn't exist. Would people really want to know?
Religion exists. I think the question your trying to ask is if they are valid or if their god or gods are real. That's really unfalsifiable as there is no test that will satisfy someone willing to accept that faith is a virtue.

Grab the extended 2 or 3 year warranty THROUGH DELL (NOT bestbuy or any retailer). You'll be glad you did if anything goes wrong as Dell's support is pretty quick and helpful as well. The hardware in their professional line of laptops are all high-quality and modular as well, unlike other brands.

Time travel? Given that matter/mass can't exceed the speed of light, why can't we send INFORMATION into the future or past, since information has no mass. Then we can use this information almost as well as we could use a messenger who time-traveled!
Information can only be exchanged in particles with mass. There are things that can technically travel faster then the speed of light, such as the movement of a shadow across a distant body. But, these phenomena are useless as you cannot exchange information through them.

When people you care about fail to live up to your expectations, are you quick to criticize or do you keep your thoughts to yourself? Why do you think that is?
Depends on the situation. If whatever they are failing to do results in an effect that is detrimental to a number of people, they will catch hell. If it's something insignificant, I might ignore it unless it becomes a pattern.

Is love really a choice?
It's the consequence of various neurochemical reactions in the brain. These reactions are powerful and can override rational thought in the same way an addict will feel about their addiction. Nobody thinks it's a good thing for someone to throw their life away for crack-cocaine, work, gambling, etc. I don't quite understand why people think it's ok to do it for love....

Let me let you in on a little secret that most women aren't going to ever admit; Generally speaking, women WANT to be told what to do or "forced" to do things, especially in bed. Forced is really a bad word to use as it implies that it's something done against someone's will, instructed would be a better word.

Predict what would happen to a closed sample of a gas whose temperature increased while its volume decreased.
Depends on the rate of temp increase and amount of volume decreased. More importantly, how is it a "closed sample" if you are removing volume. Closed sample infers that it is isolated (as best we can isolate something) and therefore nothing can be taken away or added. You are adding thermal energy and removing volume, meaning it's not a closed sample or experiment at all.

Christmas is just the sloppy prostitute of a holiday that various "powers that be" have taken from each other through time and used to get lots of people to do something.

There are assholes on both sides. Once you start making broad assumptions about a very large and diverse group of people based on those assholes, then you become one of those assholes yourself.

This is the last question on my homework and I can't seem to solve it. If 26.44 mL of a standard 0.1650 M NaOH solution is required to neutralize 25.08 mL of H2SO4, what is the molarity of the acid solution? Please show how to get the answer
A bit late but w/e.
First figure out the reaction.
2NaOH + H2NO4 => Na2SO4 + 2H2O
So 2:1 ratio of NaOH to H2NO4
convert mL to L on NaOH solution, and multiply it by it's molarity to find the mols of NaOH. Molarity is essentially the ratio of solvent to solute btw, which makes this calculation possible.
26.44mL * .001 = .02644L
.02644L * .1650M = .0043626 mol NaOH

Because we cannot get differentiated cells to revert to stem cells, stem cells offer us a chance to study the processes involved in it becoming another cell type. They were preoccupied with preparing for the Kingdom of God, which despite popular belief, isn't referred to as the afterlife or a place. It's more a state of mind or being.

How inappropriate is it to wear a shade of white for a third wedding?
Lol. Some people are addicted to weddings, or the act of getting married. Mainly the myth of the "Perfect White Wedding" and how wonderful it is and how everyone looks at the bride and sees how beautiful she is and how everyone is so happy and everything is so perfect. It's NOT REAL.
A wedding is ONE FUCKING DAY. It's unimportant in the scheme of a relationship....

That's actually less ridiculous then believing the Son of God, the creator of the universe, was born on Earth 2000 years ago as a result of conception by MAGIC and established a new religion to save mankind, gave everyone the impression he would be back shortly after his death to save them, and hasn't been heard from since.

Answer to:
What do you think jesus would say to people who use the bible as a weapon against homosexuals?
Early Christianity's view on the nuclear family is quite clear. As they believed the world was going to end soon, there was no point engaging in worldly norms such as being part of a biological family. In fact, sex itself is seen as an act that was enabled by wicked angels. So the very act of having sex was considered counter to their rejection of all things of the flesh and of this world....

Understanding the New Testament and Christianity's roots, especially the gospels, cannot be done in isolation of skeptical historical research. Christianity was essentially a Jewish doomsday cult with aspects of Hellenistic mystery cults that were popular at the time. Either Christianity itself was a result of what would be deemed "Gnostic" ideas infiltrating the Jewish cult of...

Emotional pain is in vain if people never take something from it. Be it due to the end of a romantic relationship, loss of someone close, or whatever. There are many early christian scriptures left out of the bible. The New Testament Apocrypha, consisting of the Gnostic gospels and other christian allegories written during the first two centuries AD, are what were left out in favor of select letters, the four canonical gospels, and the apocalypse of John.

I think there is some very, very sketchy evidence for Neanderthals communicating with very early man. I believe it's relatively recent though. I suppose it'a possibility then.
Answer to:
Will there ever be a way to make humans live forever?
Living forever just turns life into conscious death. What gives life value is the fact that it is finite. You live a certain amount of time, and then you die.
With that said, it doesn't really matter. The Earth is going to become increasingly less habitable as the sun heats up over the next billion years, it will eventually make it too hot for liquid water on the surface of the Earth....

But, it just so happens we live in a universe full of an unfathomable amount of chances for this to happen. Within our own...

New findings point to life, or at least the predecessors to life as we know it (simple replicating proteins) existing almost as soon as the Earth's crust was solid 4.1 bya. Interestingly enough, it turns out comets, like the ones that bombarded the crap out of the Early Earth, contain all of the basic building blocks for life.

Do you think there will ever be a time in the future when all the continents reconnect and become one?
Before answering the question, a quick preface.
One large factor that is not completely understood yet is if continental plates just keep drifting about on their trajectory once free of a supercontinent, or if they slow and then change direction back in towards each other.
Most Geophysicists would say yes. The continents will eventually collide in 150-250 million years to form what has...
Answer to:
When two continental plates smash together, what do they produce?
It is called a Convergent Boundary. Usually, one plate will subduct under the other and Orogeny (mountain building) will result on the top plate. However, it is very difficult for continental crust to be subducted so this is not always the case. Sometimes, there is a collision and parts of one plate slide over the other with little to no subduction, making the crust thicker. This type of event...

Diamonds aren't rare as you can find them around any place that had carbon deposits...
Answer to:
Is it true that Cubic Zirconia is indistinguishable from a real diamond?
No. A hardness test will reveal a diamond from a Cubic Zirconium. Diamonds are a 10, while CZ's are an 8. A quality tungsten carbide drill bit that you can get at any hardware store is a 9, so even a layperson can do such a test.

Because "becoming" an atheist isn't really something that theists think about. They really can't imagine their lives without the thought of a higher power above. If you have home owner's insurance you might be able to wing that a rock from your lawn mower hit it as it was on your porch table as you were mowing your lawn.
Other then that, you can save yourself a few bucks by searching google for spare LCDs for your model and do the install yourself. It's pretty much what any repair place is going to do if you bring it in (no computer shop...

HOW DO MICROCHIPS WORK?
Logic. Go read up on computer logic and you can get a basic idea of how they process data, which is usually what people want to know when they ask that question.
As for physically how that works, it's the realm of electrical/computer engineering and deals with all sorts of complicated microscale processes that pump out tiny chips with hundreds, millions, even many billions of...

I have bought an Acer Aspire 6530 Laptop, after activating it in about 5 minutes of use the screen has gone blank, now whenever i start it the screen is either blank, turns blank at login or has majour graphical issues. (continuation in the comments)
I'd say have it RMA it back to them. Let them deal with it you just bought the damn thing. You shouldn't have to fix your new laptop just to make it work. If it keeps acting up, the fourth time it requires service, you can just ask for a refund (it's the LAW) and buy a Dell.

Is Toshiba a good brand?
Quite a few people say Toshiba laptops are the best, usually the same people that have never picked up a Dell Latitude or Precision.
Toshiba makes mediocre laptops at best. Their higher end ones even aren't that great. And as someone who has had to service many a Toshiba laptop, fuck you guys for buying them. They are by far the most time consuming and finger-scarring laptops to take...

How much would a Dell Dimension XPSt CPU be worth?
The theoretical lifespan of most computers is 10 years. Meaning that at 10 years, there is a 99.999...% chance of the hardware failing. It's a curve though, meaning the closer you get to 10 years, the greater the chance.
Of course the EFFECTIVE lifespan of a computer, and this is pretty universal for end-user machines and mainframes, is 5 years. Meaning that it will be able to run...

Could a computer power source cause a motherboard to malfunction and as a result, not boot up properly?
The power supply is the number one killer of PCs. A recent survey found anywhere from 30-35% of all computers die as a result of power supplies turning evil. When it goes, it usually takes most of the machine with it, if not everything, sometimes it even spits smoke and sparks or even explodes.
Unfortunately it's also the most overlooked and usually has the least money put into it of all...

Yep, you bricked your computer. Most people send them to the manufacturer or throw them out at this point. BUT, there is ONE more thing you could try. You MIGHT be able to recover the BIOS, depending on how far your BIOS update was when it got interrupted. Check this site out:

Basically, you need to figure out which kind of BIOS you have. It will...

My computer will not boot up with either the old hard drive connected or the new one, but it will when I take it out. What's the issue?
If it won't boot (TURN ON) then it's not the harddrive. It could be a number of things, some nastier then others. If this is the case and you don't have experience troubleshooting computers, don't even try turning it on again as if it's power supply related it could literally explode in smoke and flames and take your computer with it. So if you don't know what you...

I want to remove Toshiba satellite M40-300 bios password (laptop), but with no success within a couple of days. So i want to know if it's possible to do that. if yes, i'll need your help. Thanks in advance.
The easiest way is to try flashing the BIOS. Look up your model on the support section of the Toshiba website and you should be able to find the latest BIOS update(or the original one if there haven't been any) and instructions on how to use it. Be careful doing this as if you mess it up during the process of flashing it you can completely brick your laptop. Should wipe the password...

The HDMI to component cable is your best bet, but you might need to setup your computer to output through it properly. If you have an nvidia video card you can just go to their website and DL their latest driver and it should install the tool you need to play around with your video display. It even lets you specifically configure it for TVs. If you have another brand of video chipset (like ATI...

The most common thing to make LCD monitors stop powering on is a burned out inverter board. You can replace it quite easily, it's just a matter of finding the part. Your best source for this is google of course. I went ahead and helped you out a bit and found the part for you on sale:

Why do men in relationships avoid conversation when being addressed about a particular situation, is it something that all men do in order to avoid confrontation if its not what they want to hear
Women may be able to bring up a problem, that doesn't mean they are all properly equipped to or even trying to solve such a problem.
Loosely speaking, men tend to keep problems to themselves and women tend to bring up any hint of dissatisfaction, no matter how vague.
Unfortunately, social constructions are the real propagator of these traits. Women are bombarded with the myth of the...

Love lifts us up where we belong. Do you agree or disagree and why?
Love is in equilibrium with pain. The more you love something, the more it hurts when it's gone. Since all things come to an end, this means that being loved or being in love isn't necessarily something one should desire, because the pain of it being gone will hurt proportional to the amount of pleasure obtained.
I just thought that up right now. I knew there was something foolish...

It is partially true that TG/TS folk have difficulty with the GLB community. I have asked for testable evidence for god. To be fair, I'll present excellent evidence for evolution. Humans has 23 pairs, chimps and gorillas have 24 pairs. It's very close to proof we have a common ancestor. Your thoughts?
The bible itself offers a test for proving the existence of god. Kings 1, chapter 18. God gives Elijah a test for Ahab's god, baal, to determine if it is real or not.
This is pretty much the nail in the coffin to biblical literalists. It's a test within the bible to prove the existence of god. So do the test, what happens?

It could be egg binding, which is serious and can be fatal. Try google for solutions or see an avian vet if you are serious about the health of your bird. In the future, don't give them anything that allows them to get the calcium needed for egg production. Cuddle bones and that kind of stuff just turns cockatiels into egg factories. Unless you want to breed them, limit their calcium...

I think my parakeet Convict is very sick! For a while it has had a damaged neck and always had it's neck bent and could not fly, but it could walk. Now it is not moving and I ask my mom if we can take to vet and she said "it's just a parakeet" PLEASE HELP
Your mom is being a moron. First of all, you want to go to an avian vet for birds. Regular vets aren't comfortable treating anything beyond dogs and cats most of the time. You could try calling up some though and see what they say. They might give you some advice over the phone. But, it seems like your bird might have a broken neck. I've had a parakeet with one before, and with the...
Answer to:
Do birds make good pets?
LOTS of misconceptions here. First of all, birds developed the ability to fly as a defense from predators. Then it became useful for migration and finding food. The notion of a flying bird as representing freedom is a meaning we applied. There are quite a few flightless birds, and most birds spend the majority of their time hopping around on the ground for food. In the same way that flying is...

Answer to:
How do i clam my cockatiel and keep him from bitting
If he is with other birds, separate him in his own cage. Keep him in an area you frequent so he is used to people being around. Two times a day, open his cage and hold a pencil into it for 15 minutes. Do this for about a week, then start putting your hand in with your finger pointing out. This should get him used to your hands. Do NOT force him to do anything or poke him, you want to let him...

I have rescued a black bird baby we have had for about two weeks but last night a fox attempted to get him whuich resulted in the blackbird losing a leg will he survive and could i still relise him if he survives or should i get him put down%3
With one leg, he'd be at a severe disadvantage in the wild. But, birds can live with one leg. I have a very sweet pet cockatiel that is now nearing 8 years old who had an accident and lost use of her leg at a young age. Considering you got him young and not already accustomed to the wild, you could keep him as a domestic pet bird. My honest opinion is that to put him down when you could...

How are you supposed to heal, cope, and move on once you've found out that your soul mate has cheated on you and no longer wants you?
Look, there is no such thing as a "soul mate." People are all different, and relationships are maintained when two people can successfully reconcile such differences. Learn from it, and move on. That's the best advice I can give. Once someone cheats, you need to end it. If you forgive them, you've created a precedent that allows the person to cheat again. If they don't...

What would drinking an entire bottle of nyquil in one go do to a person? What about two bottles?
After one bottle, you would probably trip pretty hard for a few hours. About 18-24 hours later, your liver would fail due to the massive overdose of Tylenol, and you'd have to get a liver transplant, or die a painful death over the course of a few hours. Despite what people say, the amount of Ny-Quil that can kills you isn't as much as it takes to get you to puke.

2/3rds of the world's population have to worry about feeding themselves on a daily basis. Starvation is the largest problem facing humanity currently. Idiots like the ALF, PETA, and similar bleeding heart groups worry about eating and testing on animals and genetically modified foods. Some of these are the same animals and crops that could potentially combat hunger worldwide.

If someone was outright torturing their dog, I'd definitely stop them or call the police and report it if it was a situation that might put me at risk. If someone was hitting their dog, I guess I would judge if it was more of a harmless "get down" smack or if they were actually hurting or being counter-productive to what they are trying to accomplish. Dogs aren't people, so...

Does praying have any effect on... well anything? is praying to one god even a good idea? wouldn't you think there would be a better chance of "effective" praying if you prayed to every god you can think of?
Scientific studies on prayer show it has no effect on others. So praying for a sick person to recover will not help that person recover. While prayer can be beneficial for the one praying, it's in the same way that meditation is beneficial.

Do you think its wrong for countries like America and the UK to be against the development of nuclear weapons in other countries when they have so many themselves?
The current nuclear powers have a mutual understanding that they are strategic deterrents. Also, the potential for M.A.D. Since water vapor is the most common Greenhouse gas, Why is it that everyone gones on about Carbon emissions?
Because people are under the impression that the CO2 humans are putting into the air will cause a kind of positive feedback loop that will result in more water vapor and a rapid and uncontrolable increase in surface temps on the Earth.
Climate models based on this assumption have not been mirrored in observation. In fact it seems that there are other factors within the atmosphere that create...

There is no proof that a Multiverse DOES NOT EXIST , how can we prove that wrong?
Being that it's an untestable hypothesis, it isn't even science, it's philosophy. This is the problem with M-Theory currently, it's not possible to test it.
Answer to:
Where in the universe did the Big Bang start from?
Put some dots on a balloon with a marker. Proceed to blow up the balloon. Where did the dots begin to expand from on the surface of the balloon? Everywhere and nowhere. The Big Bang is not an explosion that happened within space, it was the rapid expansion of space itself and all it contains within it. Imagine the balloon deflated and tightly balled up before you blow it up. Think of it in...
Answer to:
How would we know if our universe was part of a Multiverse?
Honestly, we would probably only assume it from theory unless we were able to somehow test the theories that suggest multiverses.
Answer to:
What do you MEAN there is no God? Then how do you think the Big Bang started?
This is really a poor question because it invokes two diametrically opposed methods of thought. Scientificlly, one requires a testable hypothesis before a conclusion can be made of something. One finds that experimentation and observation either validates or invalidates said hypothesis. From this, one can explain natural phenomena and potentially support or invalidate a theory, which is a high...

Well, with our current incomplete understanding of physics due to the inability to unite all of the forces and combine general relativity and quantum physics, yes.
That does not mean there remains to be discovered a more complete and accurate set of laws for physics at this level, which there must be.

Big Bang Theorists: How do you reconcile that things can't move faster than the speed of light with the notion that the Universe is ~13.7 billion years old but objects have already moved at least 46 billion light-years apart?
While it is true that General Relativity tells us that objects cannot move faster than c relative to spacetime itself, this does not mean that mass cannot "ride" on expanding spacetime, potentially travelling faster than the speed of light away from another mass at a sufficient distance. This is possible because the universe is itself expanding. Draw some dots with a marker on a...

Yes.
I'd sacrifice five of my most cherished and loved pets if it meant I would save one person I would never even meet.

Which of the following is the most resistant to weathering? basalt: andesite: granite: mafic volcanic glass? I think granite.
Granite is definitely the most resistant of them. Being an intrusive igneous rock, it cools under heavy pressure which makes it very dense. In fact it is so dense and weather resistant, sometimes the rock on top of and around it weathers and erodes away, leaving only the much younger granite remaining.
It's commonly used in masonry and construction for it's density and resistance...

What do you think about the global warming-there being no winter thing?
the earth's axis would have to run perpendicular to it's plane of orbit for there to be no winter. It would also remove spring, summer, and fall as well. There would effectively be no seasons at that point as each area of the earth would receive the same amount of sunlight at the same angle year round.

Can anyone recommend a good book on divorce and how to protect yourself financially? If it matters, I am the wife, seeking the divorce.
Let me be clear, I hate divorce law and it's almost unanimously biased in favor of the woman in every state. With that said, there really isn't a book I can think of off the top of my head. Furthermore, it may actually hurt your case by being in possession of such a book, adding doubt to true motives for the divorce if discovered by your husband. There are several rather easy dirty...

I'm curious about something, do the people on here who call themselves Atheists, believe there is nothing after death or are they open to some form of afterlife? (I know what it typically means but I never see any Agnostics here)
Atheism is just the absence of belief in a deity(s). Technically, you can call yourself an atheist and still believe in an afterlife of sorts. Although I think most atheists, like myself, do not.

To the Atheist are you 100% sure there is no God?Is it completly settled in you?
Anyone claiming to be 100% sure of anything is a fool.
Other then that, there hasn't been anything to prove that religion(s) are anything other then make-believe for me.

There is no proof. And despite popular belief, anyone claiming their pathetic "faith" as proof is NOT providing evidence. When you're dead, you're dead. End of story.

A client reports her child has been dressed as the opposite sex since age one. Is this abuse? The child, now 3 1/2 currently prefers the situation and protests when made to wear male clothing to daycare.
No. Transsexuals, myself included, identify with the opposite gender from birth. It is not child abuse, and gender is set in the brain prior to birth (http://www.iiav.nl/ezines/web/IJT/97-03/numbers/symposion/ijtc0106.htm) not during early childhood.
It's a misconception that children, even young ones, don't understand gender. On the contrary, they know exactly what gender they are....

Start seeing a therapist that specializes in gender issues first. Talk to them about it. Try making yourself look more feminine by plucking eyebrows and shaving/waxing facial and body hair and styling your hair different. Also clothes. Check out what is in style and what you like and give it a shot. If you feel more and more ecstatic with each little change you make, there is a good chance you...

If they are getting surgery and things like that, they stopped being a crossdresser a long time ago. They are a transsexual and just use female pronouns and they will be flattered. Treat them like any other woman, that's the best thing you can do.

Which stands best for you - faith in reason or faith in religion?
This is a trick question. Faith is the irrational belief in something despite a lack of or contradicting evidence. Reason is logical and based on evidence and proof, religion is not. Therefore, to trust in reason, is not to have faith in it.

Why do some people feel that they are really female within yet externally male and vise versa? ..and want a sex change .. is it just due to hormones?
Honestly, there is no for sure answer, only very good probable causes that could be proven true in the future. The issue with TG/TS people is that do not have genes or any physical sexual traits of the opposite sex. People that do have traits of the other sex in any capacity are considered intersexed, and sometimes they are assigned a sex at birth(with surgery), other times they are not. Trans...

I think it's time to get a different TV. If you don't have the money for a new one, try craigslist, you can get some good deals there. I suggest you go for a rear projection or plasma HDTV as the good old 4:3 CRTs(big boxy ones) will be useless in a year or so when most programming switches to HD.

I'm not sure what the laws are for you in your area/country, but usually a first time offender for such a crime is just given a light sentence such as a fine or community service or a combination of the two. So I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just remember to not do it again. Shoplifting really isn't worth it, and you look stupid when you get caught.

A soul is nothing more then an archaic human construction to describe the source of emotions and feelings during a time when it wasn't understood where these things came from. It's also necessary for the belief in an afterlife, which many religions profess there to be. Well he had witnessed them breaking into his neighbor's home already, and they were on his property heading towards him. The gun didn't even seem to scare them off. What do you think of the ACLU?
As long as people don't understand separation of Church and state, the ACLU will have a reason to stick around. I don't like what they do as far as racial equality though. All they do is create further resentment and redraw arbitrary racial boundaries. It's rather contradictory to acknowledge a difference between people then claim they are equal.

I'm a female 16 and my boyfriend wants me to stop shaving all over. I tried it and now i really like the look and feel, we broke up but i want to keep going all natural on my underarms and legs. Do you think other guys would like my look too?
Maybe hippies would. I know a few girl hippies that don't shave. It's disgusting. Natural isn't always better.

At least educate yourself a bit before you attempt it. There are plenty of online educational resources to help you out with information about sex and you should definitely read them. If you do decide to try it, use condoms properly and be careful. Also, don't have sex with anyone older then 17. Even if it is consensual, it's still considered statutory rape in some states(ass...

It's actually very difficult to spread AIDS, you need some good blood to blood/semen contact to get it(which is why it's very easy to get it from anal sex). So why not. And if you are the person's spouse, I'm pretty sure you would have it as well.

A girl told me she doesn't want a boyfriend right now. So why would she keep calling me often and seem to get jealous when I become interested in other girls?
I think you may of fallen into the friendzone. It's an area where girls keep guys they use for emotional support. If you had a shot at getting with her, it would of happened by now. You were most likely given the "I don't want a boyfriend right now" line because she knows if she outright tells you that she isn't into you that you will run off. She will feel threatened...

Why does life confuse me so much?
Probably because life as a whole is rationally irrational. Biologically the whole point of life is to survive, as a species. But there is no defined end-game or goal, the goal is simply to exist, and it's ongoing. We have developed this ability to see our own demise and it haunts us. The idea of there not being a concrete goal to reach with our finite lives is rather confusing to us, so we...

How to have a nice abs? or loose weight?
http://www.johnstonefitness.com/ is a great site loaded with info on losing weight and getting into shape or body building. Basically though, to lose weight do 30-45 minutes cardio followed up by 15-25 minutes of weight training first thing in the morning every day before you eat. I did this for 2 months, as well as changing my eating habits to 5-6 light protein rich meals and lost 15 pounds...

Can the ps3 be played on a laptop
Theoretically, yes.
But you are going to have to wait for someone to program a PS3 emulator to run your games from the CD/DVD/Blueray disk or image. Also, because it would be running in emulation and not native, you are going to need a ton of processing power. Meaning you will need a monster laptop to get anywhere near semi-reasonable performance. My guess from looking at how long it took to...

It's going to take more then a 20 pound weight to get your body fully into shape there Mr. AZN-smiley-face person(seriously, stop using those). While pumping iron with that free-weight properly might improve your arms, you won't see it if you have a lot of fat hiding it. Run/bike as well for 30-45 minutes every day. Depends on what you are looking for, but I know Dell make excellent business laptops. Let me preface this by saying do NOT buy an Inspiron, they are crap. Caffeine doesn't usually give you a headache. Infact many anti-headache medicines such as Excedrin have caffeine in them. It can have the effect of easing any lack of caffeine headaches you may be having. But, if you drink a lot of caffeine usually, then if you go without caffeine for a few hours, you risk getting a caffeine headache. It's sort of a minor withdrawal symptom.

Do more cardio. Running, biking, aerobics. Anything that gets your heart pumping to 130-140 BPM. Do it for 15-20 minutes the first few days, then slowly increase to 30-45 minutes. What would make my computer shut off and does it have anything to do with NTFS
NTFS is a filesystem that is used by Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista. Basically it's a way of formatting the data on your harddrive to make it assessable for your operating system. If your drive is corrupted and the tables on it messed up, it could keep your computer from functioning properly. My suggestion is to take it to a computer shop (not geeksquad).

Answer to:
Should a married woman have a "single" account on Myspace?
People can do whatever they want. I think marriage is stupid and pointless anyway for society today.

Answer to:
What does it mean to troll?
It means to purposely try to get someone to start flaming, to ignite a flame-war between two debating or arguing people/groups, or to just spam people with offensive crap.
The methods used by internet trolls vary, but for inciting flame-wars usually it's a personal attack or the troll gives an uninformed and/or highly offensive answer or comment. The goal is to piss people off and get...

Answer to:
What do you think when you see one of the two people in an online "debate" resort to name-calling, while the other person ignores the personal attacks and sticks to the subject?
It's calling Flaming. When one person just starts attacking the other. There are people called "trolls" however that go around and flame people just for the sake of hoping to start an argument and get them to go nuts. Then they sit back and watch the fireworks. Usually people that take themselves too seriously, don't get the humor, or are new to the internet explode when...

What are your thoughts on schools banning anyone who HAS a Myspace?
It's like banning someone for having a journal. That's pretty dumb. I think they should instead be giving the kids more typing and web design classes. Have you seen how terrible some myspace pages are?

Answer to:
What is your opinion on chain letters (like: if you send this to 10 people, the love of your life will talk to you)?
they are a waste of paper, and waste of bandwidth. Anyone who sends me chain-letter or those stupid survey things to my email or facebook mail or w/e immediately get's blocked. I don't care if they are a friend or not. When they learn their lesson I unblock them.
this is one of the reasons I deleted my myspace page. I could not get away from this kind of mindless crap.

Answer to:
Do you think making relationships online (through chatting) is a good idea?
I don't understand what the big deal is. Probably on average people who meet online have better success then those that meet through friends or in bars or w/e.
Let's face it, those movies where people meet in a bar or at a bookstore or coffee shop and fall in love are bullshit. Girls go to the bar/club to get drunk/dance, guys go to get laid. You go to a bookstore to read, and anyone...

Are people really too lazy to type whole words, or do they think its cool to type things like "U R 2 Kool!" or substitute letters with numbers as in 1337 for LEET? Also, do you find that people who type well with few mistakes come off as more intelligent?
OK, Leet speak is something that has been used on the internet for a long time, probably longer then you have been on it. I don't have a problem with people using it to a certain extent, but there are people that let it get out of control.
Mistyping/misspelling however, like typing "wat" instead of "what", or "there" instead of "their" is what...

What do you feel is the best laptop computer?
Toshiba USED to make a good product, not so much anymore. This is not true anymore. Stay away from HP or Compaq now as well. Sony make a good laptop, although a bit pricey. Macs are very very nice as well, and despite what you think, with bootstrapper will run all of your windows apps(even games). Consumer-end dells are junk, but their business and corporate products (latitude series) are top...
Answer to:
If someone has your IP address can they discover your street address?
Assuming you mean an average user with a dynamic IP from cable or DSL, directly, no. There is no magic way to find someone by their IP address. You can do a trace route and it will lead back to the DHCP server that gave them said address which may/may not be in their general vicinity. But to get any further data then that you have to ask the ISP about it. The ISP keeps logs of which users (MAC...

Answer to:
When was the last time you made a back up of all the important data in your computer?
You should do a full backup once, and then an incremental every day or week, or whenever you update important data. Cobian Backup 8 is a good piece of open source software that makes it easy to back anything up to a folder, external hard drive, even to an FTP server. It supports incremental, differential, and other backup types as well.

Answer to:
Is it possible to have equal human rights for all within a theocracy? Why or why not? Has it ever happened?
In Theory yes you could have a Theocracy that is concerned about human rights... As long as that is what the religion of said Theocracy teaches. Unfortunately in reality, religion DE-humanizes people and makes it ok to commit terrible acts and atrocities in the name of the faith. This is one of many problems I have with religion, it teaches people that nothing is more important then their...

Do you think that people are prejudiced against atheists?
I am an atheist, and I have a problem with juvenile, baseless, and idiotic beliefs in things like god and the afterlife. But I live in the USA, a country that has the 1st amendment that says:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people...

Christians, if 'the power of prayer' works, yet when I was 12 and really need help and prayed, was not answered, how would you explain this?
Prayer doesn't work, that's why. Speaking to an imaginary being or force in your mind does not make you better.
95% of people diagnosed with lung cancer die within 2 years. 20 people are diagnosed, they all pray, 19 die, the last person thinks that prayer saved them.
Did the other 19 not pray hard enough? Did they not deserve to live? These are the kind of dilemmas you will get...
Answer to:
What do you believe, but cannot prove?
What you believe doesn't matter without tangible proof or evidence to believe so. Beliefs are a dime a dozen. If I want to believe there is a golden unicorn that I must worship on Saturdays with a bread sacrifice to it, that doesn't make it true or valid.
Belief without evidence(or blind faith) should be challenged, not encouraged.

Answer to:
At what point in your life did you really form a solid concept of death?
After reading in a medical journal the stages of brain death. When they talked about the breakdown of cognitive functions and consciousness. It hit me that mass of cells is where all of our emotions, perceptions, feeling, memories and personal identity was stored. When these cells die, you die.
Further evidence of this to me was people that had suffered brain damage. They had suffered so...

My grandmother is on life support ,unfortunately pulling the plug was put on my head should i pull the plug?
Is she in a comatose state? If so she is already dead, the person you knew that is. Without cognitive functions we are basically just animated meat with no Consciousness, or hope of coming back. The reality of life can be painful and seem not fair, but it's the way it is. The best thing you can do is pull the plug, remember her, and move on.

Ever talked to someone who has experienced flatlining and lived to tell about it?
Penn and Teller just did a "Bullshit!" show on NDEs(Near Death Experiences), pretty much debunking them as any kind of proof of an afterlife.
It turns out that pilots in training when undergoing high G-Force training have the same kind of experiences when they black out from the blood leaving their brain. Vivid images of a long tunnel and feeling like they are looking at themselves...
Answer to:
What happens after you take your last breath?
You die. Remember what it was like before you were born? Of course not, you did not exist. Once your consciousness seizes to function, you're as good as gone, and you return to being just another clump of carbon-based biomass that will eventually be decomposed. Even farther down the line, any fossilized remains will be swallowed up by the sun as it swells into a red giant in about another...
