It could be that opposition to this humanitarian initiative is integral to the 'Survival of the White' philosophy of the dementedly Christian right.

It would be wonderful, old chap!
That single payer could be perhaps Bill Gates. Or Warren Buffett. But certainly not Jimmy Buffett!
I really don't give a damn who pays for my liver transplant, but they jolly well better do it soon, or I shall have to auction off my collection of Rita Hayworth pornography to pay for this damned hospital bill!
Perhaps that sicko Michael Moore can take me to Cuba, along with all those other sick American traitors. Why cannot they just die penniless like the rest of us. This is the AMERICAN WAY!

I do actually have a single-payer system. I pay for my health needs myself, with cash, just like my gas groceries furniture cars and everything else I buy. Not really sure why health insurance is the sticky wicket everybody wants but few want to pay for.

  Of course your fellow Americans may help pay your bills with a bake sale. Americans are great at "helping out", n'est-ce pas?
  
  Or you could do like me, and travel to the United Kingdom or Canada to sponge off of them, as any true righteous American would do.
  
  LOL! That silly "Pacific Research Institute"... = $MONEY$
  Have they ever even been to Canada? I get all my medical care there. And it is excellent!
  But "Big Business" is perhaps better at spreading lies about Canada and Western European Health Care systems.
  The American sales acumen has now morphed into the American Lies system. It was inevitable. This is the "triumph" of Capitalism.
