    America is the "Land of Freedom" Not the land of free handouts!
    I feel sorry for those people that don't have it as good as I have it. But, I don't want to 'lower' my standard of living, just to give them everything they want!
    If we don't stop these undocumented Immigrants from comming into America, soon our country will be NO Better than the one they left!

    My name is Jose Pena, and I believe that North America has to take care of their people first. I am latino from South America (VENEZUELA) and I came to work here as professional and I adjusted my legal status when I came to work to this country, my point: it is not U.S.A problem that we( the latinos) do not have good goverment capable or able to handle their people, law, justice and management, let me give you an example: I can enter to your house without permission, that would be trespasing to a private property, I can not sleep in your patio, or in your garden, this is a violation right. other example: in my country venezuela if you do not have papers " legal documents that allow you to have certain rights like working" my goverment deport you in a minute and believe me we venezuelan inmigration officers do not play with this issue, no papers deported, I think that ilegal immigrants do not have rights to be here at U.S.A, I believe in immigrant that are qualified to come over here like nurses, doctors, people that can offer to this great beautiful country, not those ones that come over here ilegal to pretend to have same rights as native american.Well I think all ilegal people must be deported, and I DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE IMMIGRANT REFORM, WHY????.
    I will explain you, if you american open the border or legalized all people here, your country is going to go to caos, the reason are that our health system would collapse, our welfare would increase, all our money would go averseas and not to stay here, all bandits from south america would take over immediately because the could blend in. I am latino and my skin complexion is brownish and I say that to you because I do not want to have misunderstanding, I think is not about racist, it is about that we latinos think that we have rights in this country, well let me tell you paisanos clearly, we do not have rights to be here in U.S.A if we commeted a crime as the day we crossed the border ilegaly, and stayed here ilegaly, I am an immigrant and if could not have qualified to be here in this country believe me, I would have returned long time ago to my country. Well to this message my advise to my paisanos is go back to your country and stop asking for rights that you do not have as ilegal immigrants.

    In America we have passed endless ‘civil rights laws’ and ‘anti-discrimination laws’… and, don’t forget the ‘profiling prohibition’. Ok, enough is enough.This is not a Civil Rights issue, and it is not a Racial Profiling issue... it is a simple matter of dealing with those who willfully enter our country illegally.

    Do Hispanics really think the rest of us are brain dead? I hear them screaming, threatening and being violent over the mere action of concerned citizens who want illegal immigration to stop. Yes, we the people, overwhelmingly want illegal immigration to stop.

    ILLEGAL ALIEN. ILLEGAL ENTRY INTO AMERICA. ILLEGAL DOCUMENTATIONS. ILLEGAL ID’S. ILLEGAL RESIDENCY. ILLEGALS GIVING BIRTH TO THEIR KIDS HERE, WHO AUTOMATICALLY BECOME CITIZENS… WHILE WE PAY FOR IT.

    I see, United States Citizens, of any race will not do the work Hispanics who are here illegally do? Oh, we are all defective and lazy? What a lie. What a con. What political poison. What an excuse to keep illegal’s here.

    Now that we are at a crisis level of illegal immigration we must re-evaluate everything and regain control of our country. Those protesting and threatening to boycott states that are taking action should be prosecuted for disturbing the peace and terrorist threats.

    As a Caucasian, I am now a minority in the state in which I was born. This is due to the massive influx of illegal immigration and the politicians who have corrupted our system of enforcing the law.

    I have many Mexican friends who are first, second and third generation Americans. They came here legally. They worked hard to learn English. They pay taxes. They too are against illegal immigration and resent jobs being taken from their families by illegals. They tell me that they cannot understand the current Spanish being spoken by illegal’s… because it has become a ‘slang language’ much of which has to do with Drug Cartel dealings.

    The outrage over Arizona’s current mandates… seems to reflect a massive Mexican reaction to any and all examination of the illegal issue. That means one thing to me, one very clear thing. For every illegal that enters this country, there are dozens of people who help that person along. Either friends, contacts or relatives and extended family. Make no mistake it is a ‘network’. It also means that there are thousands of companies that hire these people illegally. Either way you flip the taco or pancake. The law is being broken. These people do not want to be examined. They do not want anyone to provide clear identity and proof of citizenship or legal allowance to be here.

    Yes it is the GUILTY who are screaming the loudest. They cry ‘Discrimination’. They act as if determining legal citizenship is a Witch-Hunt. They don’t want us to know the actual numbers. They don’t want the law-breakers to be deported. Too bad. Our country is in a financial crisis. If there is anyone here illegally taking up jobs and space in hospitals.. They can go back home.

    Also, any American citizen who harbors, rents to, or employs illegal aliens, should do jail time for it… along with heavy fines. It is time that those crying discrimination and profiling grow up, stop breaking our laws and insulting the rest of our intelligence.

    Nobody has the right to force illegal immigrants down my throat and try to mesmerize me into believing that they are being persecuted. Nonsense.

    Yes, it is good to have laws that protect peoples rights, but it is bad to have those who want to cry wolf use them to cover crime and illegal immigration.

    It is simple. We have American Citizens. We have legal foreign visitors. We have illegal, undocumented foreign visitors who need to be sent back home and prohibited from coming back.

    In order to sort this mess out… someone has to take the first step… and NO it won’t be pretty for the law-breakers and those who aid and support them. That is called Law Enforcement.

    No, no, no Citizenship for undocumented trespassers..

    First of all, they aren't residents in most cases. They are illegal aliens that somehow managed to buck the Border Patrol. Anyone who supports these people doesn't understand the destruction they make on their way into this once great country of ours. There are litterally highways through the desert they take, and they leaves hundreds of tons of garbage behind. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS. They don't care whether they are supporting the enviornment or not...everyone who says they support them, just really don't understand the impact they make in this country, this state etc.
    I'm tired of people who live in areas that they might not even see an illeagel gets all up in arms about the bill the Govenor of Arizona passed. Someone, somewhere had to start this ball rolling. The feds refuse...so why not the states! If they waited on the lists, if they took the test, and learned English, like my Grandparents did when they immigrated from Russia and Poland...I wouldn't have a problem...but these people only want to destroy us. Grow up people and smell the real story here. There are no easy answers!

    Yes, but not without conditions. Contrary to the opinions of some VERY CONFUSED people, the US is NOT suffering from over-population, and Detroit for instance has only half the population it did in 1950. If you got rid of all the immigrants and their families currently living in the USA, you'd only have a handful of Native Americans. YES, YOU. So what if you were born here? Many "undocumented immigrants" were as well. Try reading the motto on the Statue of Liberty: "Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses longing to be free..." and focus on building a strong nation rather than hiding your head in the sand.

    They should go through the legal path for citizenship. I have a friend from Singapore who did the paperwork and now he's a legal citizen. It was not the easiest process but if he can do it I don't see why others can't.

    This is a lot simpler than a lot of people think it is. When you have a bigger group of people looking for work then the amount of wages the workers can expect to be compensated with decreases. When you consider that in many cases illegal immigrants will work for less than minimum wage its clear the impact is entry level American workers receiving lower wages.

    Where did all the middle class jobs go? That’s a question on a lot of people’s minds these days. The answer is related to the over abundance of cheap labor in the American marketplace. Jobs that used to pay a living wage now pay less because there are more people looking for the limited number of jobs.

    When illegal immigrants enroll their kids in schools, they are placing a huge crushing burden on an already under funded branch of government. When illegal immigrants show up in hospitals they get treated while citizens pick up the tab for the cost.

    Locking down the border should be child’s play with the militaries budget. Classifying border security as a matter of national security would empower the military to take the appropriate steps to secure the borders. I would recommend a 15 foot cement wall and a moat with guard towers every quarter mile. Compared to what we are spending to rebuild Iraq the cost would be a drop in the bucket.

    Force people to prove citizenship to enroll in schools. Force people to prove citizenship when the want a driver’s license. Force people to prove citizenship every time they have an interaction with a government agency. The penalty ought to be immediate deportation for being found in violation of our immigration laws with the possibility of future citizenship permanently denied.

    The implementation of defensive tariffs on all imports to make the cost of those imported goods more expensive than American made alternatives needs to be implemented now. The American manufacturing infrastructure is dieing because we can’t compete with the essentially zero cost foreign labor markets and their lack of environmental regulation. If foreign countries want us to stop placing tariffs on their exports to our country then they need to play by the same rules we do, high minimum wages and good environmental standards. America is a big country with a large market. We don’t need anything from any other country we can’t make here for ourselves.

    The people that benefit from the current immigration policy are the very wealthy. They benefit from paying lower wages to their employees. Unfortunately the wealthy through the influence they are able to buy have managed up until this point to keep the immigration policy unchanged. It is going to take a monumental effort by the citizens of this nation to wrestle back the power to change things for our own best interests.

    Should illegal immigrants be granted American citizenship? Good question that not even senators want to deal with at the moment. I was asking myself will all these negatives comments help or will someone listen to them for a final decision? most likely not! but going back to your question, well, my answer is; lets take a look at each case shall we. and then i can give you a good answer :)

    But let me tell what i am against: the people that commit acts of hate, the bullies, the ones that commit crimes, etc. These people should be out! legal or illegal!!! and probable many illegals that are in the USA would never say "kill them!" or wish others wrong without even knowing reasons.

    That depends entirely on the circumstances, If too many people are let into a country it causes economic an social problems

    however in certain circumstances where people face certain death if they don't emigrate or children that are being abused and sexually exploited then they should be allowed in and given help to take them out of that life.

    This is not a "black and white issue" (this is not a racial pun)

    There should be strict immigration policies but some people should be given citizenship based on who is the most deserving, there are plenty of drug lords that manage to get citizenship through bribes etc. these are the ones who should be deported not the helpless children who they traffic as sex slaves

    This is incredible to me. It is no wonder why our country is in such disarray. Over population, unemployment, high costs of living...I put a lot of this on our country's policy on illegal immigration. We will soon be heading towards socialism full force, and the things that this country originally stood for are falling by the wayside. Everyone who is here illegally needs to be thrown out....if you want to go through the process, and become a citizen legally...go for it. I would like to know what other countries would welcome an illegal with open arms, give them all of the benefits a hard working native would have, and ask nothing of them in return...NONE. The American people in America are becoming second class citizens.....very soon, we will all be speaking languages other than English, and America will no longer exist. Such a crock...makes me sick.

    Hell no! And where in the constitution does it provide congress/president with the authority to take money from citizens and spend it on benefits for illegals? Seriously, we spend $113 BILLION a year on illegals. Here's a solution - everyone who thinks we should provide benefits for illegals, should check a box on their taxes and the money should come out of their paychecks, not the rest of ours! Plus, anyone in congress who has ever supported/voted for any legislation that provides healthcare, K-12 education, college tuition, or any benefit whatsoever for ILLEGALS - should have his/her citizenship revoked, pension plan cancelled, assets seized, and be deported.

    Only a fascist regime that serves business over citizens would allow illegals to work without benefits and at sub-standard wage - effectively lowering the standard of living for everyone. Why hire an American with FICA, Worker's compensation an OSHA oversight when can hire at half the wages with little safety and no insurance? Boycotting legitimate Arizonian businesses is a a vote for sweat shops and not for civil rights.

    Illegal immigration is an opportunistic infection.

    Illegals should be excluded from employment, excluded from enrolling their children in public schools, and excluded from buying or renting a place to live.

    No other effort is necessary. Illegals subject to these restrictions won't have to be deported, they'll leave on their own.

    The Mexicans shouldn’t have come to America in the first place illegally. They should get a passport and an American citizenship first before they plan on living in the US. They also try to stay in America by exclaiming their human rights. They have human rights, though not approved by federal law unless gained by an American citizenship. And what if they commit crime? They don’t have Passports, personal information or anything like that. It will be much harder for the cops to stop them if they commit crime. Also the Mexicans claim that it’s racist to do such a thing. Racist is out of the question. Racism is defined as “a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.” I don’t see that happing at all. The Mexicans need to find a better excuse before the rush into another country.

    Not just no, but HELL NO. Illegal immigrants have demonstrated their disregard for the rules of society. If they have starving families at home, WHY AREN'T THEY AT HOME FEEDING THEM? IF they don't have the opportunities they see here, it's because they have allowed their gov't to steal their rights, freedoms, and earnings from them.     They should be granted the opportunity to apply for citizenship and granted on a case by case basis. Things like being enrolled in an accredited program should add to their case, but not allow for an across the board granting of citizenship.

    Sure. If they can apply, and be accepted for legal immigration, stay in the country legally and honorably for 7 years (or join the military and serve honorably for 3 years), get a job, get an education, study for the exams, avoid legal trouble, and take the citizenship exams like the rest of the naturalized citizens. Who gave them the idea that they are any more special than any one else?
