Has anyone ever crushed a rat in high heels by mistake?

  I bought an electronic "rat zapper" and caught a couple of mice on my front porch the last couple of months. I moved it out by the chicken house and caught 8 wood rats in the last 5 days. I just put chicken feed in it. Have to put them where they can't get rained on.

• I have a mouse in my house. I've tried to find a trap that don't kill, but, as of yet I haven't found one.
  I don't want to kill it, maybe keep it as a pet! Can you tame a wild mouse?
  I have found that since I got back from Viet Nam, I do less and less killing, of anything. If I find a spider in my house, I'll catch it and throw it outside. Moths same thing. Cockroaches, now that's a different story!
  I have even stopped traffic, on major highway, to let a mother duck and her 5 little ducklings get across to the other side. And after they got across, I shoo'd them away from the highway, I noticed a lot of people smiling, waving, or giving me the "thumbs-up". Only 1 or 2 gave me the "finger". I guess they were telling me I was number one in their book! LOL

  I've seen some where they mount an empty paper towel roll on a bucket and then put a little oil or something on the sides and rim so the mouse/rat would fall back in the bucket if it tried to jump and grab the rim.
  
  I don't kill spiders either, other than black widows and brown recluses. I used to be in to organic gardening. I would like to kill most moths though as they are the culprits of almost every veggie/fruit eating caterpillar like the tomato horned worm, cabbage lopper, cut worms, corn ear worms, etc.

• Rat snakes used to keep the rodents in check around here. I haven't seen many snakes the last couple of years. I hauled a bunch of rat snakes down to the creek a couple of years ago as they were eating the eggs I was trying to hatch. I was over run in field mice and wood rats that year. Hard lesson.
  
  Now if I catch them in the hen-house regardless of rather or not I am trying to hatch eggs, I just move them down to the side pasture.
  The type we have around here (You likely have them too if your in a semi-rural part of Texas. Mostly I see them called "Texas Rat Snakes") look similar to diamond back rattlers and they will even shake their tale when agitated and will sound like a rattler if in dried leaves but they are harmless and don't have a real rattler. (I say harmless but they will bite. They have teeth, not feigns. My middle son payed my youngest $20.00 when they were teenagers to let one bite him on the arm. Lol)

• I thought of you when I was looking at a new magazine that came in the mail earlier this week, “Arbico Organics”.
