Things You’ll Need:

  • QuickTime
  • Step 1:
    Use your web browser to go to the Adobe Flash Development Center website (see Resources). The Adobe Flash Development Center features several free learning guides for Flash Professional.
  • Step 2:
    Navigate through the learning guides at the Adobe Flash Development Center website. There is a general getting started guide that is a good place to familiarize yourself with Flash Professional. You can also look at learning guides for specific topics, such as animation, graphics and video in Flash Professional.
  • Step 3:
    Go to the Lynda.com website (see Resources). Lynda.com is an online training library that features Flash Professional educational resources.
  • Step 4:
    Sign up for a subscription account on Lynda.com. Account periods can be bought for anywhere from one month to one year.
  • Step 5:
    Access the Flash Professional training series with Shane Rebenschied on Lynda.com. Start with the overview videos and work all the way through advanced items, such as making templates in Flash. QuickTime is required to view the training videos. If you do not have it installed on your computer, you can get it free from the Apple site (see Resources).
  • Step 6:
    Read an online tutorial for Flash Professional to learn it. The Learning Flash Professional 8 blog (see Resources) and the Flash Professional 8 Tutorial from the Baycon Group (see Resources) are free online tutorials you can check out.
