I am curious about why people hold the values that they do. What do you consider a primary value to uphold, how would you teach it to your children and most importantly Why is it important for you?

    i hold to the values of loving my God with a complete heart, with all my mind and strength. this is what had guided me throughout my life and saved me from major heartaches that i see others have gone through. when a person does not have the driving force of the Almighty it can be and is very hard to navigate through life. i have tried to instill this love in my children as they grew up. the way to do this is by gaining exact knowledge of God and his sacred Word. deuteronomy 6:4-9 says: "listen o israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. and you must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your vital force. and these words that i am commanding you today must prove to be in your heart. and you must inculcate them in your son and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. and you must tie them as a sign upon your hand, and they must serve as a frontlet band between your eyes, and you must write them upon the doorpost of your house and on your gates." having deep respect for these words as well as following the example of God's Son has also been very important. i do not want to imply i have done this to perfection in any way, shape, or form. as an imperfect human i have made my mistakes. yet i do strive to apply what i am learning and for this i am very grateful. i have come to know that obeying God's untimely principles will always protect me. as hard as it may seem at times, in the end i have concluded he was right all along. God never lies. (titus 1:1,2)
