Is it a messed up database issue?
It's happening more and more. Today I went through 25 alerts. More than half of the new comments and replies weren't there. Often the entire thread where a new comments was posted was gone - one which I saw yesterday.
I've asked AB staff questions like this before - they seem to spend more time on WarCraft or whatever.
The UX of this site is going faster and faster down the crapper.

Have y'all noticed that the questions generating the most responses are "religion related?" Why is that?
