If astronauts eventually bring back rocks from Mars, is there any chance that we also could be bringing back some harmful, alien microbes?

    Well, if you want to visualize what would happen if this theory would prove right, then watch the Andromeda Strain (based on a novel by Micheal Crichton). In the novel/movie they explore the possibility of an alien virus coming back in a satellite, and how the government is prepared for this eventuality with the highest technology possible. Some people even claim that the movie is based on actual events (but is only speculation). A must see!! Enjoy.
