I would guess English because I come across far more people from non-English speaking countries that speak English than English speakers that speak another language.

I couldn't agree more, but an Italian friend of mine once told me that if he was English he wouldn't learn a second language because everybody else speaks English.

I suppose that's fair and common reasoning. I still think we're really lazy though. It's a difficult process to learn a second language, unless you have a natural flair, but I do find it works a bit better than shouting and speaking slowly while flailing your arms around.

We are lazy, I live in a Spanish speaking country so I have to try to speak Spanish and I'm learning, as they say, poco a poco.
