    Paul was the sole composer of "Let It Be", unlike most of the songs in which John and Paul collaborated with each other (at least helping to finish the lyrics or a musical detail). In the sessions John played a Fender VI bass and joined George in the backing vocals. Some sources mention that it was Paul himself who did backing vocals on the album version, while his then wife-to-be Linda did them (uncredited) on the single version.
