Help answer this question below.

Would aborting a baby found to have Down Syndrome by ultrasound actually be a mercy-killing?

If a mother decides to abort her unborn child for having Down Syndrome, would it be merciful? (Her justification after all would probably be that she would spare the baby a whole lifetime of misery brought on by the intellectual defect plus a host of other medical issues.)

Or do you think it's best to just put the baby up for adoption once birth is given to it, as I would prefer to do?

My girlfriend was supposed to have Down Syndrome according to her ultrasound...
Her mother kept her regardless. Turned out she didn't. She just had to grow into her head as she was a very small baby. A baby is a baby... anyone who could put that child up for adoption purely because it may be ill... i think thats impossible lol. I couldn't do it. I don't think i could ever give up my son/daughter due to an illness. it might be hard and it might be upsetting but the kid is your blood. your offspring lol. you should always look after them as best you can.
