You're reading Can two non-Mormons be married in a Mormon church? I already know you can't in a temple.

One of their parents is a mormon, she is unsure of the answer.

The only possible problem that I see with this is the cost involved for the electricity (lights, AC, etc.) W/ members such things are subsidized by their tithing. W/ nonmembers, it's not.

Yes; unlike other beliefs, the Church receives no govt aid whatsoever.
All funding is entirely member-reliant.
But my experience is, it never bothered us - marrying two non-members; we were only too willing to help out.
But I would think that if we started to get 'heavy runs' on such things, finance would have to be considered, because we do things for free.
The whole Church is voluntary.

this is not that uncommon of an occurrence, if a man and a woman are living together unmarried and they wish to be baptized they must either separate or get married before they can be baptized.
