How exactly does depression run in a family line? Wouldn't it just be a personal matter and not something passed on through your ancestry?

You're reading I am 16 years old, and latley, NOTHING seems to be amusing/ fun. NOTHING seems worthwhile. The ONLY three things that seems to make me happy is music, weed and my girlfriend...whats going on? depression? addiction? or just part of growing up.

If you've been a hardcore puffer than you could take a while to see the difference. Good natural ways to beat depression include:
Regular exercise - get the blood pumping, increase the endorphins
Regular sleep - my grandma told me an hour before midnight is worth two afterwards (ie the early you go to bed the better it is for you)
Fresh air - it's old fashioned but it does help
A Very Good Diet - Plenty of fruit and veg, a good balance of healthy food and treats
Have Fun - do some fun stuff, it isn't a luxury it's important to a healthy life.
Do something you enjoy every day - even if it's drinking your tea with a straw.

I would suggest doing all these things AND popping along to your general practioner. I would be wary of throwing pills down your neck especially at your age, if he appears to be just pressing you off with them. Ask him if there is a more natural way you can feel better. I did this and my doctor was extremely helpful.
