You're reading Do you ever correct people when they are speaking to you?
Comments
I don't think you can determine if one is literate or not by talking to them. There are many dialects of speech all over the world and just because someone talks "funny" does not mean that they can't read or write.

I had some one talk to me in 1337 the other day. I ate them.

LOL! you ATE THEM!? That seems a little severe. (I kid) I understand that though, I can't stand that either. Half the time it doesn't even make sense.

They actually spoke to me using the phrases "lol" "roflmao" and "STFU". If they had cut my wrist they would have been shot in the eye by a spurt of boiling blood.

I can understand LOL, sometimes when typing it can mean the difference between a comment and an insult, but thats about it. NO one needs to know if the person on the other end is" "rolling on the floor laughing their ass off" or if they're STFU-ing(what ever that means) all over the place. I mean come on:-)

They weren't typing, they were actually verbally speaking to me.
by knightrider17 on May 8th, 2007
WOW! I never thought that I would ever hear that. I figured it would only happen in that phone commercial, I think its verizon.
