What are the stages of asphyxiation leading to death? (approximate times: eg. brain death in 4 minutes) I need to know approximately when the point of no return is where death will occur without any outside influences.

    Depends on the vector, choking on food doesn't do it like being hung from a rope until dead.

    • Situation is smothering, victim lying down, physical barrier most likely some form of cloth (eg. pillow), over nostrils and mouth, may also have been excess pressure on abdominal cavity
