Is music is un-Islamic? as suggested in Hadith Qudsi 19:5: "The Prophet said that Allah commanded him to destroy all the musical instruments, idols, crosses and all the trappings of ignorance."

    I'm not an Islamic scholar, but my personal take on that verse is that Muhammad,pbuh,was commanded to destroy instruments that had been used in the religious ceremonies of the polytheists. Not a prohibition on instruments or music in general. +5

    • Not only pray, but pray their way. There's a Christian Taliban in the US right now that would do the same thing if they could get away with it.
