My 2004 Jeep runs at the right temperature on the open road, but if I get in stop and go traffic or idle the engine temperature soars. Why?

You're reading The "check fuel cap" light is on. I have tried to reset it via removing the battery and the dealership has reset it via the computer. But after several days it keeps on coming back. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks.
