Help answer this question below.

HELP, I just got braces, I have a concert that
i play Oboe in but when i play the braces cut my lip, any ideas?

    When I was in junior high I got braces a few days before a concert - I played the trombone :)

    It hurt to play at first - but over the next few weeks my mouth just adjusted to having the braces - and there was no more pain while playing.

    The wax did nothing for me. Ever.

    I hate to say it - but you may just have to suck it up and play anyway - or see if you can't limit your play time at first to limit the damage until your mouth gets used to the braces.
