I downrate based on the value of the answer. Your answer was unqualified. Certainly you can be a friend and call your friend when you are feeling lonely, when you need help with a homework problem, when you want someone to talk to, when you need someone to go to the movies with, etc. Really even the most pointless calls, i.e. "just to talk" is really disguised as a call to fill a certain void in your heart. As for a true friend giving you love all the time, that has nothing to do with my comment. My comment was a true friend waits to call when HE needs love, not you.
