Question

Help answer this question below.

I was prescribed Hydrocodone. Upon taking it this past week, I have bouts where my skin gets itchy and I have developed a few blister like 'hives' on my hands and arms. Could this be a reaction to the medicine?

Bouts of skin getting itchy most likely is a "sensitivity" and not an allergic reaction. If the hydrocodone is working, then try taking Benadryl 25 mg by mouth every 6 hrs. (Benadryl 25-50mg Q6 PO)
If you have any shortness of breath, stop and call a doctor (or 911). Otherwise it is just inconvenient.
