The paid off house we live in, in PA...hasn't dropped as much, but, of course, also wasn't as inflated to begin with!
Can a property owner sell land for non-monetary consideration, such as services? Would the value of the services be subject to tax?

is buying a property really worth the extrordinary prices you have to pay these days for example a very small one bed flat £150,000 in uk.
