My daughter has asked to go to drama school, which may involve boarding. Has anyone boarded and was it a good experience? I hate the idea but don't want to put my needs before hers

find out all you can, does she have to board? if she does & it's right for your family get her into the closest one to you, if it goes pear shaped remember, nothing is written in stone, she can always go back to regular school, and home to mammy if she needs you

    • Hi confucious, the whole drama school idea is a long shot. We're on a budget and she'd have to win a scholarship. This would mean not having a choice of where to go beyond carefully vetting a school she may be successful in auditioning for. My real hope is to find a normal day school in the area we're moving to later this year, but one that has a strong focus on the arts. I fear boarding school partially out of ignorance and partially because it involves seperation from my child.

    • You sound like a great parent, it'll work out regardless as she has great support. Good Luck
