I got the nerves up to ask him if we were exclusive, and i got yelled at "if this is to much drama for u we can call quits" so this relationship is doomed right?

no. but, depending on the situation maybe it's too early for him and the pressure is too much? or perhaps he doesn't even want a relationship and that's his scape goat excuse? your question is vague, i need details about the situation in order to give you a thoughtful, thorough opinion.
