I modded my PS2 and it didn't work. Disconnected the mod chip etc and still it won't go to browser screen. Please advise what I have possibly done?

  My ps2 (slimline)stopped playing some of the games, it used to play it before. The games work perfect on my friends ps2. Mine only play the cds with purple/blue bottom and not the silver ones?
