What's the technical difference between a fruit and a vegetable?

    Quick and easy answer is that fruits propogate via seeds and vegetables do not... so if it has seeds, then it's a fruit, if no seeds, then it's a veggie. This is why tomatoes and cucumbers are fruits.

    • carrot that we eat are the stem of the carrot plant so the seed is mean for the tree not stem

    • We eat the seeds of cilantro (coriander) and celery. Heart of palm is a vegetable, while the plant also produces a red fruit.
