You're reading My 1997 escort had a problem with the alternator. When it came back from servicing the radio won't work and the fuse won't click into place. How can I fix this?

You would have a hard time getting me to fix it for free! How and why would the guy who fixed it mess up your radio?

If it worked to begin with, who is to say he didn't, and he would have to prove to me he didn't screw it up.

How do you know it worked to begin with? Did they have it towed to the shop? Did they try to jump it before taking it to the shop? Did it sit for 6 months before going to the shop? You don't have any details to justify taking it back to the guy and demanding he fix it for free, that's my point.

And another thing, I suppose it is possible that the bad alternator caused a problem with the radio, I doubt it, but just giving you that much. The guy that fixed the alternator still isn't responsible for any damage the bad alternator caused.
