While Jesus IS God, He is NOT the Father. The Father sent Him. Jesus did His Father's will. Jesus returned to the Father. They're not the same, despite the fact that both are God.

There's no Scriptural warrant for the claim that Jesus was "a god". Instead, there's plenty of Scripture that shows otherwise. Jesus did what only God could do: for example, He forgave sins. He claimed to be God on a number of occasions, but never claimed to be the Father. Why would Pharisees want to stone him for claiming to be God if He never did?

Remember: Exodus was written long before Jesus came to earth...and that when He did, He wasn't ONLY God: He was also human.

    • Jesus is 'a' god, a spiritual being. He is NOT almighty God, whom no man has seen. Exodus 33;20

    • Actually pugwash, Jesus is a part of God. John calls him the Word of God. Think about that. Read what Jesus has to say about our words - out of our heart come our words... So if Jesus is the Word of God, then he is part of God and came from God.

    • Shabba, John's gospel doesn't actually NAME the Word as Jesus. the name"Jesus" in a following verse. But I wasn't there when John allegedly wrote that.
