    Very long..... Sorry :(

I am a new consultant. I do love the product, and have met some wonderful people. I'm doing well with my sales too. I will agree with the first person in that you will find some bad apples on the higher end. Most want you to do well, but some directors can be very pushy. The trick is getting into a unit with a laid back director. I've told my director I probably will not attend EVERY Monday night meeting. It's a 30 min. drive, I have to find a babysitter and I have to get all gussied up for a rah rah. I never wear dress cloths, but we are required to wear a skirt, pantyhose heals and makeup. I just wear the skirt, but whatever else I want, cuz I don't care, LOL.

I'm still pressured EVERY Monday to go, with a phone call. " Your not going???" Sheesh, thought I told you that. There are 30 people in our unit and I'm the only one who makes an effort to go. Go bug the others. I made the mistake of attending a few meetings. Now I feel I'm required to go.

I was recently blessed out by another director at an event booth because we thought we could exchange product, but we couldn't. We stopped immediately and I called the legal department to clarify everything to make sure since we are new and all. We could only take orders. We only sold 3 products was all because we never mentioned we had the product. We were just looking for leads.

Anyhow, this older director just was hateful to us instead of taking one of us aside quietly. The public and near by booths just stood and watched her gripe. How embarrassing. THEN she went home and I think emailed EVERYONE in our MK area about what happened. People were coming out of the wood works saying, "heard you got in trouble". Mary Kay isn't about that. It's about inspiring women and helping them, not trying to make them look bad. Also, she was mad we had a booth too. I was told that it wasn't a rule, but that only one unit booth should go and everyone split the time. Well, you have 30 people in a unit and 7 hours at a booth. Don't think I'll be doing that!!! So every expo in our area is taken by a unit, good luck on someone small getting one.

I went to a star shooter party recently. I have fun, but felt out of place. I'm half their age and only had MK in commen. Plus, one just sat and gossiped about other people in their units once the party dwindled away. There is NO telling what she and others said about me and that stupid booth. Who does that in front of new recruits??? Plus, one lady gossiped about a director in trainings recruits, that they were not quality recruits because of the quality of life they've have (said in a round about way). I was taken back, frankly pissed off. I didn't say a word, just left. I will build my own unit, but a great one and separate myself from all that stuff. Who wants to join?? LOL

My advise to someone who is considering MK, join, sale and do it for yourself. You CAN make money, you just have to know how to manage it. Don't get caught up in the gossip. Don't let someone pressure you into something, because THEY WILL. The directors can only stay directors if their unit preforms. So go to some of the meetings and tell the person who is trying to recruit you that you are director shopping, lol. Tell them what you are willing and not willing to do up front and stick with it girl!!!
