Why did Joseph Smith need to publish HIS extra-Biblical Book of Moses when one already existed? Why didn't he just publish the existing one?

You're reading Did Joseph Smith engage in a sexual relationship with a 14 year-old girl?

Well said.

O.K., Juliet was 14--but Romeo was 16. It was not the norm for grown men to have secret (unlawful) marriages to 14 y, o.s.

Perverts always have a rational explanation.

MK: Perversion means "unusual" and young marriage was the NORM then

It's not okay to make a movie depicting rape, but it is okay for your leader to rape a 14 year old girl for real! Hypocrite!!!

Child predators are everywhere in history and in the present. Read about Mormon sects in Utah and Canada.

If Smith was already married, how could the marriage to the 14 year old have been 'lawful'?

My 22 yr old grt grt grandfather married my 14 yr old grt grt grandmother this was not out of the norm

Again, "Nonsense!" This claim simply does NOT hold up under the scrutiny of historical evidence. Please refer to the graph attached to my Answer for specifics.

your graph only shows that it was not common, not that it was unacceptable, that is two different thing besides the fact that marrages were under reproted during smiths time.
by Does it matter? on January 23rd, 2009
Your logic is flawed. What is "common" in society reflects what is "acceptable". And please don't post anonymously -- it's rather cowardly and "red flags" the credibility of your assertion before it's even posted.
by Mister IT is trying to Liahona outta here on January 24th, 2009
its not common for someone to jog to work but it is compleatly acceptable. also whats up with the ad hominum attack seems like i remember you harping on someone else for that, dont be a hypacrite
by Does it matter? on January 24th, 2009
Still anonymous? Amazing. I have nothing more to say until you take on form and substance and stop hiding.

Definition: "Ad hominem argument is most commonly used to refer specifically to the ad hominem as abusive, sexist, racist, or argumentum ad personam, which consists of criticizing or attacking the person who proposed the argument (personal attack) in an attempt to discredit the argument. It is also used when an opponent is unable to find fault with an argument, yet for various reasons, the opponent disagrees with it."
"jeepguy87" y comment was not an Ad-Hominem since I was pointing out flawed logic in the poster's comments as well as the cowardly tactic of hidiing behind an "Anonymous" alias - however your comment was.
Now can we please get back to discussing the Original Premise of the question?
Thanks.
