What are the benefits of increasing the water you drink in a day, as opposed to drinking other liquids?

    I assume we are talking here about drinking water as potable tap water.

    Cost: any other beverage is more expensive than tap water (except, you are invited...).
    But some high quality bottled water could be more expensive!

    Transport: you don't have to carry it home.

    Lack of toxicity: especially for a quite high quantity of this kind, tap water is normally not toxic. By drinking a lot of another beverage (for instance tea), you could eventually accumulate various substances in your body, and this could be a problem, especially if you do it often.
    But the abuse of some mineral waters could be dangerous, particularly by some mineral waters.

    Taste: drinking a great quantity of many drinks other than water can be unpleasant.

    However, we appreciate sometimes to drink something else than water, just for pleasure, as long as it is not a big quantity.
