Is there software that can analyze a digital photo to determine if it has been changed in any way from its original state?

    No, it really isn't possible if the person altering the photo is good at it. It is possible to zoom in and change a picture pixel by pixel and if it is done well, you would never know. A program can't tell anything except how many pixels are used what size they are. It can't make a determination of whether the pixels have been altered or not.
