We've had some good vacations from picking up brochures found at rest areas and those places. Found a nice little Amish town in Ohio and took a riverboat cruise on the Mississippi from brochures found at rest areas.

You're reading As you're traveling, what's your regular tourist routine? (Do you pick up brochures, buy souvenirs, keep a journal to help you remember what you saw, thought or felt), take photos, update your blog, what?)

I agree. Those rest stops on the highway and tourist shops if they exist ... and very often racks full at motels, etc ... have some nice local places that are great to explore. --- Don't laugh, but I carry a 9x12 Zip Lock bag. Actually, several bags. Then, I toss brochures, receipts, postcards and such into that day's "bag". Next day? Start a new bag. lol

It's an overnight trip, all inclusive. All meals, a hotel stay overnight. Very good price. They even had a hotel they worked with at port who offers special rates for the ship's passangers.
