Though I do not agree with some of the hostility in some of the answers here, I must confess that seeking a child of a specific ethnic group or nationality seems like vanity. The only reasonable exception is if you are attempting to match the child's ethnic mix to your own, and the tone of your question does not suggest that.

    • But does it really matter? They're adopting a child, who cares what race it is? There are many many Japanese orphans, just as there are many many American, Greek, Korean, Spanish, and African-American orphans.

    • If that be the case, why not adopt a child from a third world country? Those children are in greater need.

    • I'd love to know when the last time Rude Bear adopted? Until you've been on that long, emotional, expensive journey - really you have no place to judge how a child come's home to their family.
