    • i did a study on absent fathers and that most girls with absent fathers turn lesbian and hey u are cool

by raerae on April 26th, 2007

    • I think your study was seriously flawed if those were the results you got.

by Zibbys Mind Is In the Gutter Today on April 27th, 2007

    • raerae, what exactly do you mean when you inform us that you "did a study"? Whom did you study? Where did you conduct the study, anyway? The French Quarter during Gay Pride week? Maybe the Bourbon Pub on ladies' night, LOL. Look - there's no substantive correlation between an absent father and a woman's sexual orientation. Too many variables exist to state an unequivocal cause-and-effect relationship between the two. It just doesn't work that way.

    • Did you ever go to Charlene's? I think it's closed now. I used to live in Baton Rouge, long time ago. Small world, huh?

      Jodie44

      by Jodie44 on April 27th, 2007

    • raerae- you were 'a les at a time'?! I don't think that really counts as finding most girls who have absent fathers become lesbian. I know many, many females with absent fathers, and I know one lesbian. The lesbian, weirdly enough, lives with her married, heterosexual parents.

by Carmella on April 28th, 2007

      raerae

by raerae on April 28th, 2007

    • Charlene's was a women's bar in N.O. Not in the Quarter.

      by cyther1 on January 19th, 2008

    • You mean your father is flaked out or you are my father?! *grin* I'd like to say that last part is a joke, but after the past few months I'm starting to think anything is possible.

    • you hit the nail on the head with absent can i make a new word and say uselessabsent? thats what mines always been, and the sad thing is i dont even think he realises it!

      pipmeup

by pipmeup on January 19th, 2008

    • I think ''absent'' sort of naturally leads to ''useless''... someone who isn't there can't do much good! Except I suppose by not being around, some peoples fathers are doing them a favour. :)

    • So, it would seem that this is an American trend? There seems to be a seriously fundamental flaw in men with fatherhood.

      Adz3r0

      by Adz3r0 on April 8th, 2009

    • No, I'm English. I'd say it's pretty much a universal trend. Men are traditionally the hunter gatherers though, and mothers are traditionally the nurturers. Perhaps that has something to do with it, I dunno.

      Adz3r0

      by Adz3r0 on April 8th, 2009

    • Don't have a child with someone unless the both of you are completely devoted to one another.

    • So what does it read about American or first world culture when the majority of an aggregate sample of people label their fathers as 'absent' or below?
