Everything in moderation. I ask him each time, "How hungry are you?" He is offered either 1, 2 or 3 peices of candy or cookies. It is surprising how often he picks just one.

When we go out, I always get a salad to go with it, and together we eat that first.

I am not always as rigid as I would like to be, but I just try to tell him the facts, and gently push him in the right direction. So far, it seems to be working.

I always feel there is a fine line between junk becoming a commonplace food, and it becoming the tempting forbidden food, (which could cause overindulgence, hoarding, etc.)
