In most areas in Eastern Europe it seems the band is always worn on the right hand. Not sure of any reason, just custom...

In former Soviet Union if you place the ring on the left hand it means that you are divorced. They always wear it on the right hand. In most western Europe countries will place it on the left hand. Best is when you plan to marry a person from another country than yours check it out.
