Depends on how you respond to diazepam. It's a LOW dose. Give it 40-50 minutes to hit it's peak in your bloodstream. I would take 2 frankly, UNLESS you are taking an antihistamine or any other CNS depressant medication or over the counter drug.

In that case, best to just take 2mg or you could get sleepy or even light headed. I assume you have taken diazepam before and know it agrees with you? Just use your best judgment. 2mg is not much for MOST people however. They give people 10mg shots before certain out patient and other surgical procedures, so 2MG is really quite a low dose if you have very high anxiety.

The maximum recommended dosage is 10MG in an hour, or if you are prescribed the drug by a doctor 30-40MG maximum therapeutic dose a day total for anxiety, severe muscle spasms, etc.
