Yes. There's no more "empty" feeling than stepping on the brake pedal and having it go to the floor.

If I have to bench bleed the master cylinder because of a damaged brake line, couldn't I just refill it with brake fluid before I fix the problem and get the brakes pumped up without letting the reservoir become empty?
