If you confess to a Baptist Pastor, do you become a Baptist?

    A Baptist pastor shouldn't expect you to confess your sins to him. The Bible states that you should confess your sins to God. A pastor cannot forgive you of your sins, so go straight to the source. If you want to become Baptist, then come on in. We'll take all the sinners we can get.

    Why would anyone confess their sins to a sinner. A priest has no authority. Neither does a church building. The Church is the body of Christ in which he indwells in each of our hearts. Jesus said " I am the way, the truth , and the life. NOONE come to the father but through me."

    The Bible teaches teaches us that Christ died for our forgiveness and also that we would not need a mediator. So it is paganistic and evil to confess to a priest or Mary. Since it defeats the much purpose of Christ Jesus our Saviour to even think about confession to another sinner.

    • This is correct, if you want forgivness for a sin, follow Jesus doctrine, there is no authority outside the Catholic church.

    • "Elder Gibby"- He has the authority of the bible! This is what God said not man. The bible says "there is ONE mediator" Christ Jesus! What can a sinner do to cleanse us from our sin? It takes a sinnless God to do that.
