Pioneer, Panasonic and Phillips (the 3 Ps) are all multi-region dvd players straight out of the box. LG dvd players require a code to enable the multi-region function. I'm not sure if it's true for all but this code worked on mine. First ensure there isn't a disc already in the machine. After the "no disc" message is displayed press Pause followed by 3141590 ( a "code 0" message will be displayed if you have done it correctly) then press pause and then the off button.
RE: Hungry Guy's comment. I used to work in the electrical department of a large department store in Australia and I was told by senior staff that all models in the "3 P's" came multi-region capable. Most of my DVD player sales were of these brands purely because of that fact. I'm not sure if this differs between countries though.

    • Thanks! Could you list the actual model numbers for the "3 Ps" that are multi-region...

    • All regions is actually Region 0, which may not work with all software.
