You can not be reimbursed for reward money, however you could sue the thief civilly (especially easy if he was convicted of this crime) and without the hassle and cost of an attorney for any damages done to the bike. For example: any scratches dents dings or missing parts or pieces. You would bring quality pics of any such damage along with at least two estimates for repair ( if you win you will be granted the amount from the lowest cost estimate so be sure you get estimates from a reputable repair shop) also if you can prove the cost of the bike a receipt is ideal of corse but whatever you can get, and don't forget to include any court cost you may have to pay, in the total amount of the suit, it will not be automatically added but will be granted if you win. This may help restore some of the cost to you.
