Has Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream been realized in America yet?

In MLK's historic 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech, he said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Has this goal of racial equality been realized yet in the United States?

Ok, I'll get poohed here, but I really don't think so. If it were, we would realize that Martin Luther King Jr (really Michael King) had a very horribly flawed character and would replace his holiday with one to honor more honorable people like Rosa Parks. There are too many lies and cover ups about him to grant him such an honor in our nation and he also didn't seem to believe people needed to be held accountable for their own actions later in his career, someone else was always blamed.

Today we just have reverse discrimination in addition to the discrimination fought against years ago. Laws don't help hearts change.

    • Dr Luther King got involved with some extremists but saw his mistake. The people had a hidden agenda and he had a hard time seperating himself from them. I think his heart was in the right place.
